I think the OP meant the powerlifting total record? He has a top 20 all time total without making it his primary goal. And to the person who mentioned figure of eights, you can’t use straps in powerlifting meets so grip would be relevant.

He got 505kg just below the knee last year, good speed off the floor, no technical errors. That was with a hamstring injury, which he detailed post-competition. I do believe he stated that, in that condition, on the day, he reckoned his ceiling was 490-500. If we assume the hamstring in good condition added even 1%, that's the full 505kg. I do believe if Graham remains healthy and peaks the same way, we stand a very, very good chance of seeing it.

Loz really stirred the pot there when he asked Graham who he thinks his rivals are and whether or not he'd want a crack at 506Kg after the fact. I've said this in a few places and I'll say it again; Graham doesn't look like he's only training for 505Kg. He looks like he's training for 510Kg. I think he knows in his heart of hearts that there are too many very capable lifters with their eye on 505Kg this year for him to risk having to share the record or lose it to someone else. It's all or nothing for him and he knows that. Not mentioning Thor in his list of "rivals" after just training with him the other month seemed like a very tactical reservation, on his part. Everyone knows full well what Thor is capable of. He's probably going to pull 505Kg with no suit or figure-8 straps. Graham can only beat that by going up to 506-510Kg. He hasn't been though this hellish year or so for nothing. Of course, my full support is behind Graham and I truly, truly think he will have 510Kg in him. He looks unstoppable at the moment. Oway, Hickseh!

You have to take into account Thor's height, at 150kg he was ripped up in boxing shape, Hicks at 150kg is a powerhouse but hes also not even 6 foot. A 100kg 6'9 man can look skinny even if they lift, a 100kg 5'9 lifter is potentially jacked, if a little overweight even.

@@svmuscle7677 It is true though, taller guys have to way more ROM to finish a lift, if you put that into the amount of energy they put into moving something it increases wildy. Pacling more muscle don´t mean you gonna get great advantages as strenght is no linear with mass in a 1-1 situation, where if you lift 500 pounds and you double your weight then you gonna lift a 1000, is more like you gonna lift 750... if that, and they don´t double their bulk.

Why do people care so much about the equipped deadlift in strongman and pay no attention to equipped powerlifting?
@Adam-bw6dj
@Adam-bw6dj 10 күн бұрын
Because what a deadlift suit gives you is small in comparison to the hundreds and hundreds of pounds extra you can do with the use of a Bench shirt and a squat suit also gives a lot.

The only human being capable of lifting 505 in the foreseeable future is Thor. All these other guys who have dedicated all of their training to it just to barely break it off the floor (and often times not even that) are just not capable of it. Harsh? Yeah but it’s the truth. Like how many more times are we gunna see Ivan claim he’s going to do it for the bar to barely even reach his knees? I’m not trying to be a hater, I’m just being a realist. Stop obsessing over the 505. It will happen when it happens.

Incredible how Thor pulled 501. It can’t said how much that is

I would agree with most of that except that Graham has a very solid shot at the 505, no one else besides him and Thor though

I wish him all the best but it doesn't really matter who pulls 505 or 510 or 520 it's the man who pulled 500 first. The next milestone would be 600 which I doubt it. It's like showing up to the party late.. ... Just my opinion..

By that logic the deadlift that matters the most is the first deadlift ever done. All hail the best deadlifter ever, lifting a whopping 42 kg Hsjjdvdhs the not even fully evolved human.
