Hey loves.
Here I am back with a little YA recommendations video for you (along with a little mini-manifesto on why I think YA might be worth our time as adults). I hope you love watching it as much as I loved filming it 💚
Tell me about you - how have you been? Are you happy and warm? Have you been reading much lately? I want to hear!
All my love,
Vix xxx

I have been on a YA hiatus for a few years now, but read 'Big Bones' by Laura Dockrill earlier this year and I LOVED IT. I would highly recommend it, the main characters is an amazing body positive BABE who I wish I had around when I was a young adult, but thrilled that I can enjoy her as a not so young adult! xx

Hello Vix! How are you? I hope you had a great time these past week. I've missed seeing you but my studies got me a bit busy. I am so glad to be able to watch your videos again, although I am not over the fact that you comment in one of my videos, hehe (blushes) Great, great recommendations. In my case I only listened to 'The hate u gave' and I subscribe everything you say about it. The story is incredible but, the narrator... oh, the narrator, she is a powerhouse. She made the experience sublime (at least for me). And I love how this book in particular can, and should, in my opinion, be read by everybody. Not just teenagers. As reality seems like a nightmare sometimes I feel like Angie Thomas has managed to create a story that makes us reflect and be critical about it. And maybe that is the stat of a change. As you can probably tell I am very invested in this book.I would love to pick the other two one day though. I will let you know if I do it :) Lots of love!

I will always watch (and comment) all the videos that you produce. Your videos are so necessary. Angie Thomas has made a really complex topic accessible and relatable to so many readers (without reducing the importance) and that's why I will always support it :). And, don't worry, I will text you if I am able to find the other to books. Hugs!

Did you read 'The Gentleman's guide to vice and virtue'? That was the only YA book in 2017 I've really enjoyed. I fell off the YA wagon in the last two years, since I felt the YA books I've read in that time didn't offer something new to me. I'll check out 'Aristoteles & Dante discover the secret of the univers' (why do YA books have so long titles? geez...). Thank you!

+A bookish Kat Oh no, but I did hear about it! I will look it up. I know what you mean re not offering something new though - YA can often fall into the same tropes and it can feel like once you’ve read them a couple times, you’ve got the point. There are always those little gems that stand out though! Thanks for watching! PS - I must get better at responding to comments before another video goes up! Putting up a new video always reminds me to check the precious one again, ha. Anyway, thank you so much :)
