I agree w/ everyone that this is the way a human should react - but if this wasn't in front of such people...if it was in private, on the train or street...would people be calling Chris a pussy? I hope not..maybe I don' think people are very evolved. I myself always "back down" - I just feel there are two many unknowns...I'm not exactly Dwayne the Rock...and any of these "man" moments isn't worth me losing a tooth or going to jail or even just feeling bad about something escalating...
@ActionHero292 жыл бұрын
That's exactly How I feel about those "man moments". It's just not worth it. Unless it's a matter of self defense or something, it's not worth going to jail for. But there is a part of me that just wants to go for it. But my rational self kicks in and says, is this really worth the risks? Guy could have a knife or something. You never know who you're dealing with. Too many unknowns

I remember I was to a Work Party years ago. There's a guy who I sort of got on with there. Good natured but had odd quirks that made him socialy nervous but then, when he'd had a drink or he'd been doing well with people or whatever, he got far to confident and just did stupid things. Well suffice to say he decided that, after one or two drinks, thought it would be funny to slap me right accross the face. I was of course taken aback because it came from basicaly nowhere, I was standing there feeling foolish and the couple of people who had seen looked awkward. He missed all this and laughed. I decided to try to make a joke of it and try to get the last word in and grinned and tweeked his nose. So he decided to punch me in the nuts. And again found this hilarious. I of course went bent over when I got the punch and I was very close to coming up swinging. Of course a mixture of cowardess and common sense told me that it was the worst thing I could do. For by probably losing me my job it would have spoiled a party, for a bit at least. What I had my excuses in order. So I made a pointed joke that 'he was lucky I was a man of peace' said my goodbyes and left the party. Not because of this I was leaving anyway, in fact it had been when I approached them to say my goodbyes this had happened. I can honestly say I was furious. It hadn't went unoticed either. Few people were impressed. A couple of days later he had the sense to apologise to me. I told him bluntly he was lucky I had a long fuse and I could have easily made more of the matter than I had. So yeah I sort of know what getting slapped out of nowhere feels like. And I'll say people rarely do it to people who they think will slap them back.

The level restraint and level headedness needed to react the way you did is astounding. As martial artist my sensei always told us TKD is self DEFENSE first, don't start fights but if someone brings trouble to you and you can't talk your way out of it, bring the pain. You would have been justified stomping that dude out but thinking longer term you decided not to. You needed that job more than you needed to eff him up, the was the right call. But oh lawd, I don't think i could hold back...

I really didn't retaliate because I was mostly confused as to why I got slapped. Then when I realized what I said was kind of mean sounding, I still just let it slide because in a way I had it coming (Though nobody should react to mean words with physical violence.) I'd be interested to hear what Nia thinks about this, because besides the embarrassment to white people that Fox News will continue to be by covering this in the way they always do, this really affects her more than Bill or myself. Black people in America have been trying for centuries to gain not just freedom but respect and equality, and all this does is fuel racist sentiments. "Black on black crime." And we know if this was just 2 random black guys involved in an inner city, both of them would either be in a cop car in handcuffs or there'd be a chalk outline of their bodies on the street thanks to a racist in uniform within a few minutes of this. This is the kind of thing those guys live for. In their effort to save their own asses, the Academy just made things a whole lot harder for black people in America - not that Will Smith himself didn't have a whole lot to do with that.
@SIM20142 жыл бұрын
[C'mon, we know what your thinking underneath it all!😉] {Excerpt} "The only thing worse than the slap will be him never hearing the end of it. Can you imagine? First, he probably only slapped Chris because Jada caught him laughing. And as he goes to the stage for the slap Down, they probably edited out what he most likely could have only said: "Why'd you make me laugh man! Now the only award I'm going to get tonight is the couch!" Boy, I'll tell you. And then im sure during his acceptance speech the academy let him keep the award because of how well he managed to make the audience believe he had justified it! Considering this I'm sure during his sentencing they'll probably let Chris write a script with Jada in it poking fun at him! And then finally, in his golden years, when he's probably still dealing with bed sores from spending too much time on his therapists couch, it will still be about HER! Will, get a grip, there are more important things in life. And less costly too!😉 And Jada, if your watching this, move out ASAP and get a restraining order!😉 Things will get much better for you both as well as the rest of us! I promise! We are not fooled by this!"🤣 {Sound of clapping clickers}
