This week, we are in the Kitchen, where the food magic happens. This savory 1950s recipe is a blast from the past. How can you go wrong with a biscuit and meat filling, topped off with some gravy. This recipe is great for those crazy potlucks, family gatherings, and even those busy weeknights.
Just one problem, what to call them. Biscuit Meat Filled Ring or Meat Filled Biscuit Ring or Biscuit Pinwheels. Whatever we call them, these are sure to be a crowd-pleaser, just add some gravy or creamed veggies for a topping, and good to go. #easyrecipes #dinnerrecipe
Biscuit Ring Filled with Meat Recipe *1950's Recipe*
1 Recipe Baking Powder Biscuit
3 Tbsp Melted Butter
1 C Cooked Ground Meat(Lamb, Pork, Beef)
1 Egg, Beaten
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/4 Tsp Pepper
Roll dough out to 1/4 in thick and brush with butter.
Combine Meat, egg, and seasonings.
Spread over dough.
Roll dough as if making a jelly roll.
Cut into 1 in slices.
Place into greased ring molds.
Bake at 400°F for 20 mins.
Turn out from mold and top with your favorite gravy or creamed veggies.
Baking Powder Biscuit Recipe:
2 C Sifted Flour
3 Tsp Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp Salt
4 Tbsp Cold Shortening
3/4 C Milk
Sift dry ingredients together and cut in shortening.
Add milk and make a soft dough.
Place on a lightly floured surface and knead lightly for a few seconds.
Roll out to 1/2 in thick and cut with a biscuit cutter.
Place on a greased baking sheet.
Bake at 450°F for about 12 mins.
