I really enjoyed continuity of seeing lightning dust again and also liked how subtlety the episode hit hard with scoots sort of maturing and telling Dash she wants to create her own path. Shows how Scoots is growing and entering phases as she’s growing up, and I appreciate that realism in the show Edit: also Saw Tori first on Twitter and she’s adorable Blank 😍 And saw the Confalone PowerPoint for party pooped posted somewhere on YT, really fun and genuinely one of my favorite writers

Spitfire's rants are like my attempts to make art: They're fun to watch, but usually end up with someone IN A FULL BODY WING-AND-HOOF CAST DRINKIN' THROUGH A STRAAAAAAAAWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!

I gotta say that as a good friend or a responsable adult, ya need to know when to put your foot down. Always support your friends, but sometimes there's a place where you have to draw the line. You support your friends, not everything they do, because people do dumb shit sometimes and sometimes you have to let them know that it's not a good idea and why. Though with kids it's a bit different, because well....they're kids. Though I gotta say as someone who genuinely cares about someone's well being more than the relationship itself, sometimes you can't just say that it's not your place, that it's not your life, because well....in a way it is. That person IS part of your life, and you want them to be happy in long term, and when they're about to do something to get themselves hurt, like staying in a very bad relationship, following bad people, throwing away lots of money that could get them in debt, trying drugs, getting engaged to a toxic person and because they're so infatuated they refuse to see it...stuff like that. It's the right thing to do to speak up to protect your friend, to say you're worried, though you cannot force them to do anything, you have a right to state your feelings on this and you should if it's something that could seriously harm your friend, even if it means that by telling them they get angry, and may even break the friendship.....because you care about them.

I'm almost certain Spitfire's little speech was in reference to an SNL (Saturday Night Live) skit where Chris Farley played a (abysmal) motivational speaker. He was hired by two parents in an attempt to convince their teenage kids, who's room was found to contain weed, that drugs are no good. In the skit, his joke was overwhelming and borderline nonsensical use of the sentence "Living in a van down by the river!" Delivered with far too much gusto. Replaced here with "Full-body wing and hoof cast, drinking through a straw!" Both lines are delivered excessively, and she also snaps at Rainbow, like he Chris does when the parents try and assure him his job was done. And she also used a similar, more child friendly remark like, like the one Chris uses to great comedic effect. " We-e-e-elll..la-de-freakin'-da!"

This is my fifth favorite episode of the series

I loved how this episode brought up Scootaloo's inability to fly as a reason for her actually joining the Washouts, but what I was REALLY hoping for was for them to bring up in some kind of way (at least subtly) the fact that Scootaloo is an orphan, and therefore didn't have any kind of parent/authority figures that look after her to definitively put their hoof down and tell her, "NO, we are *NOT* letting you do this, end of discussion" when she decided to do that stunt. Rainbow Dash is like a big sister to her, but not in a caregiver/mom kind of way, like how Rarity and Applejack are to their little sisters. She's mostly just a role model, she doesn't raise Scootaloo or look after her (as far as we know of). I think bringing that up in some way would've made this episode really amazing and memorable. But I'm really hoping we do get an episode solely focused on Scootaloo being an orphan and who her family was before the series ends, like we did with AJ's parents
