If you don't have the tool, there's a hole next to the starter, you can lock the flywheel with a screw diver

In your opinion, is a difficult job? In total all parts is £160 to do myself, garage want £250, do it myself? Or for extra £90 take it to garage? I'm worried is a very difficult job 😕

That's an M47 engine mate. Change the title. I was actually searching for M47 crank pulley yesterday and it eventually this vidoe was recommended to me. It is a good video, but people probably will not find it.

Sory, but you gave the wrong engine code. bmw 520d can have a strong m47 or the defective n47 or later 3.0diesel 530d m57 or n57 depending on the year of production of the car
