The Boker Plus M3 Trench Knife was originally released in 1943 and issued to US soldiers who did not carry a bayonet. H. Boker and Co was one of 9 knife makers who provided these fighting knives to our brave soldiers and Marines. This reproduction is faithful to the original and just a very cool knife. Buy the Boker M3 on BladeHQ (best price): shrsl.com/2fvyz

Ontario Knife Works makes these in their own Factory in the United States! They were also a supplier to the government during World War II. They're running about 85 bucks a piece. They are great knives I purchased one a few months ago and they are marked so you will know them from an original, of which I have several. Did I mention they were made in THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?

I heard Ontarios are built cheaper than the bokers. Maybe Ontario intention is to have these as collection and they also look like the originals unlike bokers

Ontario was a US supplier in ww2, but they did not make this model at that time. Boker, as far as I know in Solingen, did. They are the only brand in some capacity still making them since ww2. If they made them in Germany the cost would be that of ww2 originals. Case could be making them as a continuation model, but isn't. Nobody else from the original ww2 contract runs is still in business.

I had one of these as a teenager, but with the black plastic similar to the M16’s bayonet, but without the ring and clip. I used it as a Scout camp knife, and, to honest, it was dreadful, but really cool! I swapped it with my dorm mate for a Karrimor rucksack. I got a lot of use out of that for a good 20 years or more, but I still miss that knife!

I recently bought a Boker tactical folding knife that was made in China. I was surprised at how well made it is. It is sharp. It feels as sturdy as a Benchmade. Boker must have found the best knife making factory in China. The only thing that would have made it better would be push button open/close. A nice plus is that nowhere on the knife does it say "Made In China". That being said, this Boker Poker might not be a bad knife to have.

I don't have an actual garage, just a "portable garage" which essentially is just a canopy with sidewalls a zipper door and a back cover. I ride motorcycles, so, a 10 x 17 is fine for my needs, giving me extra space to work and store stuff. Enough getting off topic. I swear, one day I seen a butterfly sized mosquito. It was. Man, I thought I was going to get lucky for a quick picture because it was inside the garage (the "door" was open) by the time I took my phone out, that thing was gone. No one will ever believe me and I don't I'll see it again. There are some fly sized ones occasionally, but, Its not the same.

What was with the constant rattle from the knife? Is the guard loose? Something in loose. if it rattled out of the box then it's junk. A knife that rattles is not something I would carry or trust.
@KevinSmith-yh6tl
@KevinSmith-yh6tl 3 жыл бұрын
That rattling you hear was the finger guard rattling against the Tang of the blade. That pretty much means that the leather washers, if they were real leather, we're not set down properly on the finger guard. Sometimes that happens to Vintage World War II M3s if the leather is very very dry the leather contracts. An easy fix for that is some saddle soap and leather conditioner to help the leather expand again and then it will set firmly against the guard. Just my two cents worth somebody else we'll have something different to say I'm sure.

The sheath for that knife is the type which the military used during WWII and beyond and I would buy that knife if it can pass the test you are going to do with it on your stump. The steel knife must be American made and I want to get one of those type's and was looking at the Ka-Bar brand instead due to the way their's are built and the reviews I saw on their knife. The video seem to great and the that knife is designed for military use. I don't have any Boker knives, but do have several other named brand knives of various types. I hear that the Ka-Bar brand knife does rattle like that one does and their's are American made and I would not want to buy another Chinese brand knife as I already have two Schrade knives made in China and a German brand knife made in China also. Most of my knives are American made and I want to stick with supporting our companies instead.

@KevinSmith-yh6tl
@KevinSmith-yh6tl 3 жыл бұрын
@@jhill4874 Yeah there's a lot of history behind that M3 trench knife, from what I've gathered over the years and told by veterans it was used primarily as a utility knife but in some instances when the chips were really down it was sometimes used as an offensive or defensive weapon depending on the situation. But that was under very rare circumstances. And yes I totally agree about people's ability be they good or bad to use a knife properly in a fight. I'm not going to bulshit anyone by saying I was spec ops or Navy SEALS or any of that Mall Ninja stuff, but I'm on the backside of 50 and have seen and participated unfortunately, in the use of a knife in some serious situations. And like you probably already know it isn't like Hollywood choreographed movie scenes, it turns dirty and nasty and ugly really quick and does not end well. Nice to hear your comments at least I know there are other people who understand things of this matter.👍
