I'm a 41 year old wife and mom. My husband is prior military and has been trying to convince me for years to focus on strength training and building lean muscle mass, meanwhile I continued to be a runner and cardio maniac. I recently listened to Sal on the Chalene Show, and his story about how he would sell gym memberships using his small 5'2" female trainer gave me the "aha moment" I needed to understand exactly what my husband has been trying to tell me all this time. I'm now a devoted Mind Pump fan and subscriber, and I am SO EXCITED to (finally!) get on the right exercise journey!! When I think of all the time I have wasted... 🤦🏼‍♀️

So happy that I love in New Zealand, all our beef is free range and grass fed ❤ 🐮 Thanks so much for putting the good info out there - it's winter here so I've been focusing on reverse dieting and weight training. Have gained 3.1kg of muscle and lost 2.9kg of fat in the last 2 months. Can't believe I have lost fat while not even trying to 🎉🎉🎉

Hi guys! Awesome show! There’s not many trainers out there that will be considerate when it comes to a woman’s symptoms ie. their period. Love listening to you guys daily!

The dad in me totally heard the intro as "cutting out red meats is a huge missed steak" 😂 In all seriousness I finally got on board with full body work outs after following the first 5 days of anabolic on youtube. I combined the fortification days with the fortification days on maps prime and love it. I will be buying the full program in couple weeks like the youtube videos recommend to do the rest of the program !!

Great to hear that once we build the muscle, not as much gym time will be needed to maintain it. The process has been actually fun so far to get stronger, but I was also wondering how I can sustain this long term from the amount of time needed in my day, so that last bit was really helpful to hear. Thank you!

OMG! I'm sold on the grass fed. I didn't realize this was such a huge difference. The sad thing is I'm not willing to buy it because how much of a health benifet you get is so hard to measure. But I had no idea about the calorie difference between grass fed vs buying basic grain fed choice cuts.

A couple of points before I forget lol. I totally agree with y'all in regards to clothes for the "athletic" build. Due to my weight loss and muscular growth clothes generally fit funny on me. I try shopping for clothes and even though "fit" by size they don't fit right. Example: I love a good crop top, but I recently made a purchase for a couple of cute crop tops and they fit odd, so now they are sitting in donation bags. I find it incredibly disappointing to buy clothes nowadays because I find myself putting them in donations. I agree with Sal, this does cause some body dysmorphia to a certain extent. I feel fat and truthfully speaking.... I feel unattractive. But I know I have made progress! In regards to beauty standards, they have obviously changed. Nowadays it seems like we have shifted to a "natural" beauty look. You got celebrities removing fillers and warming others of the dangers of getting BBLs and boob jobs. 100 years ago, it depends culturally, on what people find attractive. If I'm not mistaken, back in the day it was encouraged to take in a partner (women) that were "thicker" because our animal instincts would tell us that "thicker" can carry a healthy baby. We come a long way, from embracing "natural" beauty, to the rise of cosmetic surgery, and now we made a full circle to finding "natural" beauty attractive. I put natural in quotations because most men don't realize what natural really means lol. I don't wear much make up, in fact my makeup choice consist of eye liner and some eye shadow, recently I learned how to make my eyebrows look fuller. My loving partner of 10 years just noticed that I have been adding more depth to my eyebrows lol now he looks at me like I'm weird 😂. Humans are weird.

I have a question. I am trying to figure out my calories with your calculator. However, I am not sure which level of activity to choose. I workout 6 days a week for about an hour maybe a little over. I make sure to get 10,000 steps per day sometimes I get about 14,000. I am currently trying to boost my metabolism. I started tracking and went from about 1400 calories to 2090. I have been about 134 to 137 this past 6 weeks since I have been listening to your show. New following. Before I cut I want to build muscle. I have taken picture which I can send to you email to show my body is changing but weight about the same. I have gotten stronger with a program I bought before I found your amazing podcast. My questions is should I be closer to 2200 calories? I am saving up for one Anabolic since that's seems to be a great place to start. Any insight would be great. I don't want to change up to much but since I am now lifting heavier I want to make sure I am growing..please help busy mom of 4 with 4 c-sections. Listening to you all has been a life saver .

Mer People! 🤣 I love martial arts and I wasn't too surprised about wrestling being at the top. That's a dangerous and scary form of combat to have mastered. I'd love to learn more wrestling, but with my smaller frame, I think most accomplished competition would just toss me into the air. haha I did some grappling and I boxed. I've done some kicking stuff, too, as well as taught some practical self-defense. And I actually have a black belt in Japanese sword (i.e., kenjutsu). 😎 It's all fun stuff. If I were rich, I'd definitely spend a lot more time training in martial arts, learning a variety of different kinds.

A lil sidenote when they started talking about an Anaconda eating them: Actually, even large snakes have a tough time eating humans. The first problem is that snakes always start devouring at the head. The real stopper are human shoulders though. It's like your food suddenly gets wider in a 90° angle. It's not impossible to get round it, but I'd imagine most snakes having a tough time with that.
