I can't tell if it's a good thing or a bad thing. Ever since I have come across your podcasts on Spotify, I have pretty much been addicted to listening to as many of your episodes as possible. I find my self listening to you guys when I'm in the gym, when I'm doing my long run, when I'm at work getting stuff done, and when ever I'm driving in my car I have you guys playing. it might take a year or two to listen to the thousands of episodes but all the information you guys bring to the table is so fascinating so it will be worth it. thank you guys so much for everything you do.

I'm in my 40s and coming out of the pandemic, my decision to go back to the gym despite having access to fitness equipment at home was 100% for the social aspect. My city had implemented strict restrictions regarding social gatherings and was one of the last cities in the WORLD to remove the restrictions so I was alone for 3 years. I started to realize how loneliness affects us horribly, and how much worse it must be for the elderly population.

Just found your show last week and I've been binge watching as much of your content as possible! I love your insights on so many relevant topics! I've definitely fallen in all the common female fitness traps in my 20s and early 30s lots of cardio barely eating everything to the extreme etc. Started resistance training 2 years ago and completely transformed how I feel! Great to hear you guys advocate for healthy sustainable training habits for women. I'm recommending your show to all my female friends who are still afraid lifting a dumbbell will make them bulky!! Currently training with a group of female Canadian veterans but that will end in a couple months. Looking forward to trying some of your MAPS programs!!! 💪

I've seen the videos for the maps anabolics and I've just got my resistance bands for my trigger sessions. One of these days I'm going to get the actual program. But so far, I'm getting results. Maybe it's the newbie gains even tho I'm not an actual newbie, just was very inconsistent. Lol. But anyway, thanks for all the great content 👍🏾

Just manipulating the exercises i already do to keep getting stronger, last longer and look better 😎 awesome podcast y’all 🧠 ✊

There is such a huge discrepancy when it comes to kids in terms of strength and coordination. When most of my students first came to me, they couldn't do a single proper push-up. So we've been working on them each class, perfecting form and increasing strength. I just gave them an assessment test and was veritably impressed; most of them were able to perform at least 10 clean push-ups! Kids can be tricky to teach physical fitness to. You need to keep it dynamic, engaging, and fun, especially when there are potential distractions.

Sal started off the episode you recently had about supplements saying, and I'm paraphrasing here but pretty much not to take them if you don't need them, so I couldn't help but respect that . Everything is so individual that anecdote has to be considered as long as it isn't absolutely ridiculous. Honestly if someone doesn't want to believe you it doesn't matter if you're the scientist that did the study or the people relaying the information, they aren't going to believe you. There is "general truths" that can't be avoided but I think there's a Buddhist quote that says something along the lines of "your own experience is the only thing you can be certain of" and I tend to believe that.

Bro science, bro science, bro science. They should change the name of the channel. My grandmother smoked all her life and and lived until 80. Therefore anecdote evidence trumps everything and smoking is healthy. There is correlation and causation but correlation is a warning sign. When coming to conclusions about what is optimal for health you should take into account all relevant information. And yes that includes anecdotes, which can be a very good or useless piece of evidence depending on the circumstances. The main point being the overwhelming evidence points to a whole foods plant based diet as best for body fat, fitness and health. And the fact that someone's grandmother ate eggs and lived until 80 does not override the rest of the overwhelming epidemiology. Don't be a meat head bro science gym rat. Train smarter before training harder. Get with it guys. But your still entertaining. I laugh at so many of the intros..

@@saldistefanomaps Then allow me to explain, Sal. Quite to the contrary, I enjoy the show and I respect you guys for all that you do. I find your strength training advice incredibly valuable. I don’t think I would have ever even considered full-body workouts if not for you guys and subsequently reaped all of the associated benefits, i.e., gains. Your opinions on non-fitness topics are always interesting and quite often funny & amusing. Where our views differ, and significantly, are nutrition and nutritional research. I criticize what I believe are not just incorrect statements on those topics, but frankly, dangerous to people’s long-term health. I’m not looking for personal attention, but I am drawing attention to misstatements. If you look back at all my comments, I do compliment you guys when I believe you get things right, nutritionally. Contrary to what you might assume, I think eating some meat, eggs, and dairy is just fine on an otherwise plant-prominent diet, all ethical issues aside. That said, when I am critical, I genuinely make an effort to do so respectfully, both to you and the people in your comments (inevitably, my innate sarcasm sometimes shines through), who rarely show me the same level of respect. In the end, aren’t we all trying to make each other better? Any way, looking forward to future episodes, but I can’t promise to hold back either.
