Muy sencilla y se ven sabrosos. En vez de agua considera usar caldo de pollo hecho en casa o consomé de vegetales. Ademas unas hojas de recado, así lo hacía mi madre. Buen provecho.

I'm going to be making this with yellow rice and add green olives and cubed beef steak in my "stew". That's how my father and Abuelo always made it. My platanos are not as green as I like them tho. I may have to find some that are greener and figure out something else to do with the 2 I brought today.

Ida I have noticed I made this dish today and when I processed the banana it was more dry than your mixture, I'm thinking my plantain was just dry. Tell me what you think? Thanks for your help! Love all your videos! Thank you for sharing with me.

Sometimes the plantains are dry and crumbly.

Can the dumplings be made with ripe plantains or do they have to be green? I made it today as the video shows, but I think I may have over processed the plantains. It was a very thin/loose paste. Was hard to keep in ball shapes. How long do you pulse them in the food processor?

+GeminiAmbience It wouldn't work with ripe plantains. I just pulse it until they I don't see any chunks. Maybe less than 2 minutes.

Thank you very much. They still turned out nice; they doubled in size as they cooked. I was just worried I pulsed too long. Lasted about a minute. I also just entered the recipe into my diet program software and this recipe comes in at 239 calories per 1-cup serving. I've been incorporating so many of your recipes into my diet program and have lost 25 pounds since January. Thank you so much!

Wow! Congrats! Puerto Rican food often gets a bad rap, but a lot of our dishes are good for you! I too have lost a bunch of weight as well. You can see the difference in my earlier videos. Keep up the awesome work!!!

Which gandules do you use..? The yellow can one, I can't remember the brand...or do you use a specific brand?

Hello Ida🙋🏻‍♀️ I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your channel, and watching all your delicious recipes! I actually just had a quick question: I have tried to do my bollitas many many times, and have tried different ways to do them(even steaming them like vegetables, it kind of worked but it was kind of rubbery) but for some reason every time that I try to make them, they always disintegrate and turn into soup😭the ones that I tried were of guineos verdes. I was just wondering if you had any tips on preventing that from happening. I was also wondering if it was possible to make the bollitas in just water, and not bean broth? Would you by any chance happen to know why this happens?, And also how I can fix this problem?

I've always made them from green plantains. You could boil them in salted water, like pasta. Maybe it's the bananas that aren't green enough.

I always thought that typically guineo (green banana) was used. Ig's this interchangeable with plantain?

Is it okay to use slightly riper plantains for this dish? I prefer the flavor of maduros.

The bolitas won't stay together if you use ripe plantains.

I made this yesterday and i don't know if the bananas were an acquired taste or if it was bec I didn't make the bananas fine enough BUT I didn't care for them. They were cooked BUT tasted raw not even sweet I put a potato in mine and it was good otherwise

I didn't use bananas, it was a plantain. Green plantains aren't sweet.
