This pond needs an island in the middle, with one single starter oak tree, that can grow to be a majestic tribute to the original oak tree. Then name it "Oak Island Pond"

I just found your channel and I really like what I’ve seen so far. My grandpa had 3 bulldozers, he built many ponds and cleared forested land behind loggers that cut the good trees for a paper mill in Western Kentucky. I worked for him clearing that land for a few years in the late 70’s. The biggest pond that I know of him building is the 3 acre pond on our farm. I can’t wait to see your finished product.

We use some ISO-Stabilizers for our cameras on job sites for the heavy equipment & trains. The vibration can quickly kill the camera… Starlink is awesome and you will love it and it’s a good idea to get some Access Points to extend the coverage or a big Omni antenna. Also be careful how close your herbicide spraying is to the pond because it does some nasty things to the fish.

You may want to look into PIT tags for Bonnie and Clyde. They are completely internal tags that you implant with a small syringe. Then you can scan a fish with a reader to see if there’s a tag and what the ID number is. We use these a lot in college when we’re doing mark/recapture studies as they are vitrually impossible to get caught on anything and rip out of the fish! Love all the videos and can’t wait to see the complete pond!

At a bare minimum get tags with a url or barcode/QR code on it. Each tag can be unique so you could track individual fish that way. Build a website where you log each fish you catch and the associated details. After a while you can do some analytics. Sparing no expense I'm sure you could put some kinda comms array around the pond and use some sort of radio tags. It would be cool to see your pond on a screen and see the fish locations.

@TheBlindkiller85407
@TheBlindkiller85407 2 жыл бұрын
@@airick4038 animals are a little smarter than building a burrow in the middle of a field that was farmed for years. They know the equipment came through there to harvest and plant. They also like to be around some roots and tree’s in soil conditions like that so it helps them retain their burrow integrity and some shade. Nothing wants a spot light on them to give them that vulnerability. So the only good spot for them was that big oak tree. And I still doubt with the farming around it that any animal aside from mammals would burrow around it.

@@zacharythomas6134 Before stocking, I’d put it at a solid 450-550k. The prior video for the pond estimate they already said 850k (I believe) was too much, so this is obviously lower than that. Stocking - well, that all depends on how far they want to go with it. For a 5 acre pond and depending on how the pond is structured, could easy get another 100k in bait alone. But doing it the way they are for letting all the baitfish spawn first before adding fingerlings (noted in the video). Will greatly reduce their financial burden of baitfish. Unchecked over 1 spawn, they could come very close to triple or quadruple the baitfish population.

“exile bay” since bonnie and clyde are outlaws or “flatfoot lake” since that is another name for a sheriff

Ok I got it " Dream Acres". I can probably say most people here dream of having some property like yall do. Man all the wildlife and now a pond, thats things old country boys and gals dream of. 👍

ur going to need a dog type code chip.. u can implant those.. and u dont see it externally.. those are better for the fish.. u need to scan the fish to see what fish they are though.. (still think its better then a tag). also u might still want to put some croppy in that pond.. or otherwize they will come in themselves.. (like by bird) it always happens like that..

That’s not always a guarantee. If it’s far away enough from any lake that has them, they won’t ever get dropped in by birds.

They must have more money than they know what to do with. I'd buy myself a new boat and go to a real lake if it was me.

They already have a real boat. And this pond will generate enough money to pay itself off from the ad revenue if I had to guess. People (including myself) love the content

A true and descirptave name could be "Water of Life Pond" The pond will give yourself, Liz & Sara a life time of enjoyment, along with all your viewers. Along with the life of Bonnie & Clyde, the turtles and any other additions. Additionally, all the life around the pond, deers, rabbits, pigs, and all the aboundant wild life.

I would name it "Big Pile of Money Pond". We just had a 2 acre pond built, and the builder was able to find the clay needed in one of the hillsides the dam ties into. I shudder at how much you're putting into this.
