In this video I show you how to make a resurfacing tool that I use all the time when I'm rebuilding an engine.

I've always taken my heads to a machine shop. From now on I'll be doing it myself, thanks to your video! I've watched a few of your videos now, and I like the content! Keep up the good work! I think part of what I like is your garage is slammed full of the 20 projects you're working on, just like mine is... lol!

Always used a thick plate of glass and valve compound, been that way for 100 years or so. I suppose Corian is essentially glass, but I would think thick plate glass cut from a sheet would have a more uniform surface. That said, I have heard of people gluing down abrasives. But would still stick with grinding / lapping compound that is the perfect consistency when wet. With the benefit of a larger piece of rectangular glass, you can surface automotive heads and manifolds. Just use the entire area consistently in your never ending figure eight (8).

Big piece of glass is good too. I mainly work on Quad engines so with my Lil space I have this serves me well. I just store it with my manuals

Nevermind, i read the comment about the guy using lapping compound and i thought you were doing that on the corian. Didn't get far enough in the video before i posted to see you're doing sandpaper. My bad . Carry on.

I don't think corian is hard enough. Its essentially plastic with powdered stone mixed in. It can easily be cut with a circular saw. Its prob fine for a couple heads, but it will dish out in no time. Id keep an eye on it.

Hey Matt I got a pretty good stone from Amazon for $86 bucks it come graded with a certificación with +/- .0001 and the dimensiones are 18"x12"x3" its pretty heavy to but i think it would be useful for you since your always building stuff and its pretty cheap.
