It was surprisingly complex to hold all that process concisely in my head before rolling the camera. I really wanted to try and show, that this hobby can dive very deep indeed and, that there’s so much to look at first really, to save resources further on down the line. Keeping it fun along the journey and adapting to suit your natural skills and talents being important too but, that’s what makes this hobby quite unique. Fitting it all into one video was quite a challenge as, it’s so different for everyone. Thanks for your support. Back to modelling now 👍

Wow Andy just finished watching all of this excellent vid. I’m in the process of decorating the spare room. Next step installing the 11’ by 5’ baseboard 🤔. Got some good tips from this vid. I really want block detection where the trains run their selves but haven’t a clue how to do it? 😂. Thanks for spending your valuable time on producing these very helpful vids they are a godsend. By the way do you mind me asking what you do for a living are you a full time musician or an engineer? Once again many thanks Steve
@modeloco
@modeloco Жыл бұрын
Awww, that’s so kind. Block detection is like everything else, once you know how, it seems a lot more obvious. Plus, serving others in this way is definitely something I really enjoy doing, suddenly. As for, Engineer or, Musician well, I’ve definitely been a full time both of them. Music, was destined to become my chosen path but, engineering has helped me fulfill so much too, it’s a great string to any bow

I would imagine using bluetooth means there is near enough an unlimited number of bluetooth as they use 48bit addresses. So it's unlikely there would be a clash at a exhibition. The question on bluetooth for me is generally 3-4 connections to a device are considered stable. I suppose an endpoint can switch between multiple connections

Hi Chris, Great point & that too, crossed my mind, after this went out. Having used Railmaster with the app as well, mmm? Yes, I know this time, it will be a lot better but, am sure folks like myself will still always crave having that 'Hands On' feel. Not sure how it will juggle running more than one Loco at once on small screens... plus down the line, the accessories all need to be quickly seen & altered too. In principle great, in practice, we shall see?

I asked Metcalfe if they would be doing 120 scale buildings and said they wouldn't. Maybe if it gets enough of a user base they will.

Do you know, I thought exactly the same thing. I’m a resin build fan but, do plan to have a go at scratch building or, rather altering a ready resin built, to make the GOATHLAND Station gift shop that was added on site about 5 years or, so ago for my OO plans. Having passed the Metcalfe site numerous times in the past. Btw, this is probably the most beautiful place to work and have a manufacturing business ever and on seeing those huge printing, embossing and pressing machines through the huge modern, tinted glass, old mill windows, often wonder. There’s a sense of some mixed emotions about TT:120 but, mine are positive. Could imagine, being Mr. Metcalfe thinking, ‘oh no, we’re gonna have to get another press or, two, up these narrow country roads’, maybe the jigs and moulds needed, would mean a massive outlay. Once out their, the roads always make modern sized cars, even a modern Mini, look slightly overbearing and, out of scale with the dry stone walled thoroughfares, that sit so perfectly upon, these magnificent, natural surroundings.

Hi Andy, I want to be able to fully automate my TT120 layout so It looks as though I'm going to buy Itrains and the Roco Z21 controller as it looks as though the Hornby controllers aint that good. I take it that this system will still be able to run my Loco's with the HM7000 18 pin decoders fitted to them? Thanks Matey! Steve

Just received the easterner set. Paid for 18 pin decoder and hm 7020 adapter lead. How disgruntled was I when I found out the transformer supplied with the set p9000 wouldn’t fit the adapter lead. I had to order the p9100 transformer as well

It took a few gentle nudges in the right direction but, a totally unrelated issue, in the end, yielded the positive result. So mistakes can be a good thing too.

I’m awaiting mine too. I’d like to have a layout, sort of ready, track wise for when it arrives though. If you see one in the video it’s only a Corgi TT:120 static model I bought to make TT:120 Part Two, some time back

@@drgunsmith4099 just Peco as it’s flexible, the points are superior for DCC and, the track better scaled and looking. Just using the Hornby 2nd radius curves so, I don’t get my bends too tight

Having raised children I’m used to hearing that adjective being growled, screamed and used to thwart a plan or idea on many occasions. Indeed, I used to do the same and, grrr, always got the same answer back, ‘that’s because you are’ from my parents. My ego didn’t like it or, really understand it at the time so, am sure, you’ve either missed the point due, to possibly, some language differences, as this video could be very helpful after the updates, which of course, were fresh at that time or, I’m personally upsetting you for some reason. That is not and never has been my intention. Always here to help if you’d like to explain a little more, in a more positive way. Let’s unpack this and your obvious disdain towards something I put a lot of thought, time and effort into. If not, fair enough, produce your own content one day, ignore this but, please do better by all means. I love this hobby, I love my parents and my kids too. Parenting isn’t all ice cream and chuff chuff trains and they know too, as well now, those boring walks we did were not all just trees and grass ❤️
