The funniest thing about this stuck bus is the guys outside watching and with the giggles, like: "I want to see that" in another word, a lot low faith on the driver and on the tight place. Pay attention on the the guys giggles. It's hilarious. People were there just to watch big cars to get stuck. LOL.

One of our all time favourite drives in a marathon Cross-Country drive - both ways, Atlantic to Pacific and back. Mt Rushmore - deeply disappointing, but the local drives were awesome.

Rushmore is an interesting piece of history, but almost the National Park Service's version of a tourist trap. However, some of the scenery in the area - and the ingeniously constructed roads - are fantastic. So is the hike to Black Elk (Harney) Peak, if you take the semicircular route along the canyon wall rather than the shorter one through the valley.

@@porcupinepunch6893 Was there ever a trail to the top? It certainly isn't mentioned online, but the workmen who built it would have needed some way to get up there. I suppose it would have been scrubbed from most easy-to-find records, so people don't try to find and follow it. Or did that trail go up to the fancy Frank Lloyd Wright house, the one the Russian spy - who looked like James Mason and had a Pre-Columbian figurine of a McGuffin - lived in?

This whole area is really cool. I went up to Custer 5 years running and toured this area over and over. I've sat right outside this tunnel and seen one of the most intense thunder storms in my life. Black Hills are well worth the trip.
