The even better thing is when you buy an inverter, that, when installed properly, just does not let you down. The MPP Solar inverter you got me into mate is one of those inverters. Yes it has less features and such but it works well, and after all these years it's still going strong. Not to mention the sinewave is nice and tidy on it too. The big winner for me is the transfer ability once the battery voltage reaches a certain point.

Yes, old MPP Solar Inc. units work great. The newer one I got works great, but the fan noise is not good in them. They are still rock steady with the volts and Hz. Way overpriced for what they are now. The Deye are a little more in price, can also do more and have much better remote operation and logging. I did Love my old MPP Solar Inc units. :face-red-heart-shape:

Agree, get what you pay for, all my SMA gear has been rock 🪨solid for the last five years so far !!! 🤠😎

SMA, were good, but they're Not, so little white lie ended my interest in them.(Not, so little white lie below) Overpriced, Not all can afford them these days. Many just don't have the money. So I try to show people good units with all the built-in features in one easy to install unit, that is more affordable. Look at the quick price comparison. Not putting SMA down my friend, they were good, the yellow unit was just about bulletproof. Just don't fit into what I am trying to do on my Channel right now. Sunny Island 8.0kW single phase off-grid inverter (SI8.0M-13) around $6,265.00 Not Sure if they make a hybrid inverter or the cost that would be. Deye Hybrid Solar Inverter 8.0kW around $3,750.00 Read this article. As they still say, their inverters are German Designed. So how did China forget the screen and why so many DOA inverters. The truth comes out. (Sadly, when you’re at the top of the game, there’s only one way to go - and SMA made a swan dive into the solar pond, with a splash so craptacular that the ripples are still evident. How did it all go so wrong? Moving production from Germany to Asia, simultaneously releasing a new model without a screen (which really scared the horses) but most amazingly, having machines coming out of the box labelled “German quality” and dead on arrival.) from www.solarquotes.com.au/blog/sma-hybrid-inverter-battery-range/

@@JustinCaseSolarPower Thanks Chris for the info, yes I have a couple of Sunny Boys and one Island, it doesn't worry me at all that they don't have a screen, I'm very familiar with computers and the SMA environment. I've had no probs with tech support (on the rare times I need it) and no claims. If I was going to redo the system again I'd probably use the same gear. Just about everything in the world is made in Asia, as long as SMA are looking over their shoulder to some degree, it doesn't worry me. Glad I'm not tied to the bloody grid, that's the main thing. Stay safe old mate !!!! 🤠😎

@AndyM... I see they are making the old yellow units again. With luck, they are on the up again. But their price needs to come down to fit into the demographics of people doing it tuff right now. They also need to make an all-in-one unit. They're maybe bringing one out this year. Most don't have money to splash around, mate. :hand-purple-blue-peace:

I have my Victron and so far so good. I still have the old Invini-Solar 48 volt hybrid and that didn't miss a beat for all the years I was running it. I totally love it when these solar companies cold call me saying they can save me money on my power bill by buying their solar system. I let them spin their sales pitch then I start asking a shit load of very technical questions and they can't answer them. Then I ask them how they managed to calculated the monetary savings when I don't have an account with Synergy as I am entirely off grid and not connected to Western Powers infrastructure. That totally stumps them 😁 Hey we gotta have some fun with these shark solar companies 🤣

Yes, I like to have fun when they ring me. I think most of the ones that ring are just scammers anyway.

It is like everything else if it breaks just buy a new one and send it to be fixed if you know the guy that does that if not it sits till someone wants it or throws it out. Almost all of my equipment was bought used by someone who didn't know or just fell out of the fad.

Yes, I have got quite a bit of good equipment over the years that way. I think all companies that want to sell their electronics in another country should be made to have a service centre in that country. Would save a hell of a lot of e-waste.

Growatt are cheap high freq inverters. Parallel them and they run trouble free. Just don't overload them. There safety circuit is total rubbish. Green Bank solar pre made units come with growatt. Connecting to a 54v load and overload will kill it dead. Buy a dollar ceramic resister.

Never used Growatt, so I can't comment on how good or bad they are. The System I show in this video is all from Green Bank Solar Australia. greenbanks.com.au/inverters/ Cant see a Growwatt inverter on his page. Just Deye and a cheep high frequency unit that looks similar to the older MPP Solar inc units. Was not interested in that unit, so I have never asked him what it was. The Pre made units are built individually to what a customer wants. These are just photos of ordered units and prices of that build. We also don't need to buy a dollar ceramic resister. DEYE inverters have lithium battery wake-up build into them. Just need to tick that box in the setting when you program the unit for your system

As fare as I know, Deye is the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) For many brands sold around the world. Will try to get a list next time I am talking to them.

@@JustinCaseSolarPower i can give you that list.. Deye / sunsynk / sol-ark are the 3 "official" ones. Then when buying a certain quantity, you can add your company label to them

High frequency, transformerless inverters are the absolutely worst inverters you can buy. A much better inverter is a low frequency, transformer based inverter.
