Dear Gabrielle, hi, I have been following your videos for years. Iam so glad to see you doing so well. It was because of you that I had the confidence to buzz my hair. That was in 2017, and I have been loving it ever sense. There were a few short moments of thinking I wanted to grow it back. But, I just dont feel like me unless its buzzed. Its definitely a differant experience being a bald woman in a world where that is so different from the expected norm. I have had many incredibly good encounters, and a few we wont mention. But, I feel that its better to live a life of authenticity, and have to deal with some push back, than to live a life where you only feel right if your fulfilling someones idea of the norm for women. Mabey one day a woman can have her hair the way she wants to wear it, without anyone getting upset about it, what a concept😊 By the way, I will be 75 this August, so Gabby, you just keep on keeping on, youll never be to old to have this look. PS, your very beautiful, inside and out❤, blessings

THANK YOU for this video! Especially “the cheesy part.” I had a mishap with my clippers tonight and am now rocking an ultra short blonde buzz cut. My mantra for facing heading into work tomorrow is “the way I look is not the best part about me.” I believed that before, now I have to live it 😄

😯 this definitely makes sense with washing my face before bed. That makeup ends up around my hairline and breaks me out. My hair is so thin, I've considered to buzz it like yours. xo

This was a good video!!! I wash my head with a tea tree shampoo (Trader Joe's brand) when my scalp gets irritated and for me, because my skin can tend to be dry. I use a little oil concoction (olive and advocado) on my scalp after washing to keep it moisturized. For me, this helps a lot with break outs and dry scalp 😊

Definitely understand. It's taken me a long time to find 3 products that never fail for my buzzcut platinum hair color. Wella Blondor , Koleston Perfect 40 vol & Pravana The Perfect Blonde Purple Shampoo. With these 3 I never have to tone my hair. I just bleach and shampoo. It's perfect every time. No scalp irritation. I use old school Noxzema (Moisturizing Cleanser) on my face with lots of Hyaluronic Acid Serum. During winter months I follow up with CeraVe Moisturing Cream. I keep my hair and scalp super moisturized with Shea Moisture COCONUT- HIBISCUS curl enhancing smoothie. It smells YUMMY. I use any leftover on my hand, elbows and knees..

Buzz cut sister ❤️ love! I never knew I had a red birthmark...also known as a storkbite on my scalp until I buzzed my hair off. I just learned to embrace it, own it as you say. Now I forget it’s there. Red bumps I try to do the same. Never thought of coverup as an option. Great video content today! Have a heart full of love and light today and everyday🥰

So refreshing to see a video on this. I use peppermint dr. Brenner's shower gel, which contains different oils, it will definitely keep your scalp from being irritated, plus there's no sulfates, which was breaking my head out worse, in other shampoos. I also will use olive oil mixed in with my conditioner, and use a comb to comb it through to exfoliate. Baking soda and a conditioner of your choice is great once a week, to give it a good exfoliation deep clean. I also use peppermint oil, and aloe vera is great too. If I use a moisturizer, I will use baby lotion❤

Gabby, another tip I have for us bald girls is to make sure to clean the clippers being used. This was hard for for me. I got some clipper spray it disinfects the blades cleans the blades . I do this each time I shave my hair. This tip has helped so much, I hope it can help someone else who shaves their head as well.☺️😉

I stopped using shampoo and started using my face wash for my scalp. My buzzed hair doesn't need to be cared for like long hair, but the skin of my scalp needs a lot of extra attention since buzzing my hair weekly 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you for sharing this! Us bald girls have to stick together! Lol I use tea tree oil on my scalp daily, as well as washing my scalp on the shower daily and using a rag on it. I've also found that if I use my gentle exfoliating face wash on it once a week it gets any buildup off my skin that I wouldn't probably have noticed with hair.

Great video. 👩🏾‍🦲 So...I’ve had reoccurring scalp acne. It recently occurred to me to treat my scalp like my face. So, I exfoliate, cleanse, and moisturize with one brand of products. I started one week ago, and I can already see progress. Exfoliating helps the scalp rid dead skin. Cleansing removes daily gunk and pollution. Moisturizing keeps the skin protected and hydrated. I have not had the itches, no new breakouts, and old pimples are gone. Side note~I cannot use oils or oil based products because it clogs my pores. I’ll have to update after a month to know if I’ve got this figured out, but I think it’s gonna work! 🥰👩🏾‍🦲

#Update It works! I’ve exfoliated, cleansed, and moisturized my scalp every day for a month. The breakouts are nearly non existent, with an occasional ingrown hair. I use a really good pair of tweezers to free the hair. I also added a cream toner and dark spot remover to the routine. I really suggest sticking to one brand of products that address the issues you’re experiencing, being consistent in using the products as directed, and keeping a journal of the progress.

I use coconut oil as my makeup remover/conditioner/lotion. It helps soooo much with breakouts, dry skin, and works so well to remove makeup. Highly recommend!! Especially if yall have a sensitive scalp/face!

i break out on my crown sometimes - but I've always had that. I find that certain shampoos exacerbate the problem. A shampoo that I really like that seems to keep things clear is Origins Clear Head Mint Shampoo. I just use a little bit and it's really helped me a lot. xoxo

Yesss Mee too! But my reason was because if I would last one day .. only ONE DAY without showering or washing my head and I would touch my scalp or scratch it a little I'd immediately break out I'm guessing because of the dirt and oils? Lol we have nothing to protect it from dirt and usually the long hair would like ..be the one to get oily but since there's no hair I think the oil just sits on the scalp and well it breaks out so I have to wash it all together everyday lol! Maybe it just depends how oily someone is .. personally :) I hope I made sense lol ohh and I love using shampoos with tea tree oil it helps alot or just get a little bit straight from the bottle it's like less than 10$ at Walmart and just rub it all over it feels so fresh and every since I haven't gotten acne on my bald scalp again :D

I'm just like you one the whole smell pretty thing. So here's what I do. Buy a hydrosol such as rose, lavender, sandalwood etc and spray my head. The other one I will do is mix a small spray bottle with some essential oils to spray on my head. The bonus of this is it will also moisturize my scalp. I always have several different ones all made up.

I just buzzed my hair a couple weeks ago. I was wondering what type of moisturizer to put on my head, and you've covered that! I am curious about your hair/scalp care routine. I can't find much information on this. I've had the itch and my scalp is so dry. Not sure what to do.

Amy H Not Gabrielle, but maybe I can help a little. I buzz my hair for a year now and in the beginning, it was SO dry and itchy it made me crazy. 1. Give your scalp time to adapt to the fact it's not as protected as before, it will get better 2. You can use a mild face wash for your scalp instead of shampoo 3. Use a face lotion or coconut oil for your scalp daily and your skin will thank you for it

Maybe try not using any products on your scalp??? Idk I know that’s hard to do when you bleach. With mine I put nothing in it and only wash it once a week. Def a good idea to make sure the makeup is out of that area though. But yeah I don’t know when I breakout it’s usually in the back of my head and it’s due to sweating more etc
