My kids have been acting like a bunch of kids all day today. Nice to relax now with an evening of some getafteritism! Also, speaking of building more, you should make like, a "summer kitchen" type of thing. Roof, grill, seating and stuff.

I’ve been building a new shed / garage the last few weeks. And you wouldn’t believe the number of times whilst throwing sheets of OSB 18mm up on the roof I thought of you trying to get your boards up on the roof. Big respect mate, love your videos. Been watching you since you did the greenhouse. Don’t stop.

I put steel on my barn roof 7 years ago. Its a 12/12 pitch 2 story barn. It was a challenge, but I had a jlg to work off of. If I didnt have that, idk if I could have done it. You are doin a fine job.

Has to be a pretty substantial benefit putting that roofing up by an inch and half or so for cooling that place, less conductive heat transfer and an air gap…I think it’s an improvement over direct mount

Ventillated roofs really help with thermal preformance. I'm about to start building a THOW with metal sheeting to the roof and metal cladding to walls. The heated air will be collected in a pelum to be exhausted outside in summer (reducing induced heat load) and ducted inside during winter for passive heating
@williammaxwell1919
@williammaxwell1919 2 ай бұрын
In the Antipodes (NZ & AU), with roof sheeting is designed so that the screws go through the crown of the ridges (as metal expands /contracts, the screew holes enlarge; more water flows in the pans than at the crowns of the ridges thereby reducing risk of leaks). Conversely, with wall cladding we put the screws in the pans. I'm an architect, and even though I've asked oved 40+ years many roofing trade reps why, none has given me a plausiable reason.

With ladder work, try to extend the ladder above the eaves (& secure the ladder at the eaves ~ e.g. a ladder hook) atleast 3-4" (90-120cm) so that you are still supported as you step sideways safely onto /off the roof and this manoeuvre should be done while the safety harness is attached to the anchor point.

You've been blessed with some good weather to work on your cabin and its looking mighty fine. ❤ You'll have to invite us all down for a cookout when you're done so we can enjoy your cabin and view. 😉 😅 Have a great weekend with your family 🙏 God Bless ❤
