Can't Find the Right Person to Date?- A Limited Selection of 'Not Ready' and 'Not Available'

You’re ready to date- but the pickings are slim. Your location and preferences offer a limited selection from which to find your right match. If you're finding 'not ready' and 'not available?' Here’s what you can do to increase your dating pool options:
Should you settle? Should you go against your principles and date somebody that's really not available and single themselves? Should you give up on dating altogether? What happens if there are just too few options available?
Dating today can feel as though we have limitless possibilities. But if you live in a location that has very few single individuals, or those that are available are not to your interest… Your selection is limited. If you have the type of career that keeps you on the go and always traveling, you may find that those who want to be in a relationship with you do not want your lifestyle. You have an inherent issue with doing the work and finding the person you love.
What happens if the vision in your mind is so specific of what you must have as a partner, that you're unable to adjust it downward to what your environment has to offer?
Here are some suggestions from this video to what you can do to offset the limitation. I recently returned from my Asia tour, Ryan encountered men and women who are ready to love, but are finding that due to either their career or their location, it's very hard to meet a resonant 'other.' Here's my suggestion-

Hi Seattle gal. That's why I really wanted to have this discussion. What are the options other than settling or giving up? So I wanted to present some alternatives that we may not have thought of that expand us beyond the people we are currently finding that can put us into a better dating pool.

On dating apps I found emotional unavailable people, men with avoidant attachment style. They all say at the beginning they want something serious but after a couple of months when you start to make plans they run away.

Then focus on dating in real life. You might want to try something fun with a low bar of anxiety like speed dating. Or find hobbies that really resonate for you. I wish you well.

And, consider volunteering too ! A gathering of like minded beings who meet on a regular basis and are happily engaged in an activity. And, its good to give back to the community in which you live.

THIS IS MY PROBLEM EXACTLY SUSAN! Even on the apps - it's draining my hope after being single for 1.3 years. The quality on the apps are honestly disappointing. I would admit I am a high value woman with great education and background, so admittedly I would like to find someone on a similar wavelength. But it's just impossible..!

Here's where we all need to be creative. We may need to think beyond our comfort zone of people in our area. I do believe that there are options for everyone. Some people need to have a greater network available

I'm a student at a university and although or maybe because I'm an attractive woman it almost never happends that a man approaches me. It actually suprises me because I'm an open-minded and friendly person. Also I already tried dating apps but didn't have a lot of luck there. Sometimes I can be a little bit shy around men but I try not to be. Honestly don't know what to do

I can totally relate. I'm inherently shy. Men wereafraid to come up to me-- and the only ones who did were those who were players and had practiced the intro routine numerous times. So I have a challenge for you. Sunny, you need to smile. You need to make eye contact. I'm pretty sure that you're shy and looking away the moment they look at you. I know it's uncomfortable. And it feels weird. If you can't do this smile at least make the eye contact and smile with your mouth closed. Just a warm acknowledgment. What happens

I have several friends who live in the suburbs. There are recently divorced and don't want to give up their homes. But the pickings are truly slim. And even though they try to go outside of their community, they find it to be an awful lot of work. Additionally, there are people who live in urban type areas (such as Singapore) that are also non-conducive to dating. I work with a good number of people who live in a gorgeous environment. They have chosen to live where their heart sings due to the nature and solitude. But then… What if you want to date? I hope I've provided some options that help.

I've asked my church work family and social circles for help. Nothing. I've also experienced a few life-threatening situations from online dating recently (in crowded public places).. it's going to have to be something else. I've been trying all these things for 20 years. I've used therapist and coaches. It's too much.

Jess, I am really sorry to read this experience that you have had for 20 years. In your case, online dating is not going to work. Good effort on your part to ask family and social circles. Are there any other organizations you can think of? College alumni? Hobbies? I wish you well.

@@SusanWinter thank you for responding I'm part of 4 clubs and 2 fitness groups. I'm also part of the racing and surf communities. No luck proactively being involved. Just being hit on by creepy old guys and the men blacklisted by all the women in the groups due to their reputation. I've decided to just live my life and God willing someone will spot me. After all, I'm definitely not hiding at home.

We have developed an inability to speak to each other personally one on one. The younger generations are increasingly losing their social skills, and the rest are still trying to recover from the millennials introduction of hookups.

Wow this was meant to be, the guy I’ve been “talking/maybe dating”for the past two months just literally told me he’s not ready for a relationship lol but wanted to be sexually casual in the meantime until he figures out his avoidant attachment issues smh. He also wants to keep the door open for the future once he’s ready and healed to be available. Perfect timing.

True. You can be a perfectly wonderful partner, who is completely tuned up to being in a relationship, but if you are lacking an adequate amount of prospective partners… You have to go online and extend your territory. Good that you are taking those actions for yourself.!!!

I live in New York City my entire life and although I'm hopeful, I might as well live in foreign country at this point. The Pickens are not easy for a 53 yr old woman. I stay in shape and I take care of myself and told I'm beautiful however, the men I meet are usually with someone already and want to just fool around or they're totally undesirable or too young for my tastes. Thinking about taking a trip to Ireland.

I definitely think you should take that trip to Ireland. Just for yourself. And I do understand how age alters the pool of prospective partners. But this is where younger men often step up where older men would rather date younger. I don't know how you set your profile, as far as age, but I try something a little bit different. Either way, you are taking care of yourself. Doing the things you love is the best way to draw the right people to you whether they are friends, colleagues, new friends, or even a romantic partner.

I live in a surburban area, mostly families and couples. Been doing the apps for years without finding a good match. Also have volunteered in organizations. The men I mentally click with usually are an hours drive. Then I'm told I live too far.

could you please do a video on "when to block and when to not?" - sometimes you know you should but you're afraid to close the door (like when they've ghosted, etc.) - i know it's an individual decision but can you give your opinions on some situations that you believe would warrant this?

Sorry, I totally disagree. Waving online is not an option. It's a waste of time for lots of reasons. Better attending a course, getting a membership somewhere but skip dating apps. It's a trap, you can get better ways to work on.
