Having studied and practiced Buddhism for many years, I understand that nothing is permanent and grasping onto expectations to the contrary can lead to suffering. However, I've had a few big losses as of recent and the timing of this message couldn't have been better as a reminder of the nature of impermanence. I am so grateful to have found Eckhart. 🙏

@@liteazwell1913 no problem. I think it’s important people know that they aren’t alone. It decreases shame, which is one of the most painful kinds of suffering. We’re human and we falter. Awareness & compassion can help prevent us from repeating the same cycles💖 You’ll have more understanding and awareness the next time you have feelings for someone- and more likely to see them for who they truly are. We usually imagine/project ideals on to people due to an unmet need from early childhood. We can try to meet these needs by reparenting ourselves. It’s hard, non-linear work though!! 😂

You just explained my relationship with my late husband perfectly. We were 2 peas in a pod. When he died of Huntington's Disease, I was content knowing he was free of a nasty disease that took away everything from him. But I miss him terribly. My grief ebbs and flows. I will laugh at something that I know he'd appreciate. Or cry when I hear a song we enjoyed together. Paradoxical for sure. ❤️

@@Justbeoktoday thank you. Trust me, I know he's with me all the time. He puts song lyrics as messages into my head. He shows signs like ladybugs when I need it (his favorite insect). He sends hearts in various ways as well - I found a rock shaped like a heart the other day. Occasionally I hear his voice or feel his presence even though I can't see him. I know he's here. ❤️❤️

It is through unconditional love (total acceptance of what is) that we realize there really isn’t anything that exists except for Love ItSelf. The belief in separation completely and entirely dissolved in love. The ego is dissolved in unconditional love, leaving only liberation. This is manifested as the deep peace and joy that is seen in Eckhart that many “people” long for.

I think this may be helpful to someone. We struggle with the same issue and the most primary issue:- attachment. Perhaps we need to practice seeing things change, breaking, disappearing and causing nonexistence in meditation. Same for people. Attachment is the good pictures we have for them. Our memories, love for them etc. But we need to see them as separate individuals (not an extension of ourselves like he says), who posses bodies that get sick, stink, get old and wrinkly and eventually die and decay. It's a meditation in Buddhism, if you're interested you could look upto it. I feel like I'm finally ready to see the reality, the fact that things exist slowly becoming nonexistent the most natural ways. It's a soul lesson, to love something with non-attachment, and at the same time, accept the fact that it can change and not exist at all some day.

It is absolutely true 🙏. When you have loved a person so much who leaves you to cross the great Threshold, the pain you feel plunges you into another and vast dimension and the pain rests on an immense peace that has the feeling of Eternity. This peace allows you to continue living and above all, it whispers to you what really seems paradoxical: the love you feel for those who passed away grows instead of dying out in despair. No one leaves, love stays forever. AMEN.🙏💓

Yes, takes time and reprogramming but “non-attachment” is not about not caring about loved-ones. It’s about cultivating presence and the frequencies of the heart to recognize who you are as Spirit which actually enhances your ability to love and care about others. Attachment diminishes your ability to open the heart and connect with the divine..

Eckhart I want you to know something. Your teachings are helping me so so much. I have read your book and have listened to it 3 times now. I went through a huge life experience last year which was a situation involving me walking away from the family courts as my ex partner has made my life hell with regards to my daughter and I actually choose to walk away. It caused me to have what I can only explain as a huge mental break down, I also worked in the funeral industry which also didn’t help. The trauma I have gone through and decisions I made have had such a huge impact on me and my mental health that the only thing that has genuinely kept me going is your teachings. I am currently suffering with derealisation and depersonalisation from the intense anxiety I have gone through, but I feel as if I am finally having small break throughs each day with feeling present. Thank you for helping me Eckhart.

I had a serious accident about a year ago and totaled my car. I really liked that car and people told me “that car IS you”. Two months later, when I felt I could drive again I found my dream car, with very little effort or searching, perfect color and model, for $2500 less than my insurance gave me for the wrecked car. I felt like I had manifested it but I certainly didn’t do that consciously. I have been listening to you, Elkhart, I’ve read your books and you have been a huge influence on me, along with other teachers, A Course in Miracles, and Buddhist thought. I really like my car again but realize all the material world, including our bodies are impermanent. Thank you, so much, Elkhart, for your beautiful teachings.

⚠️ Most of the time I feel no necessity to have a second life, or having an eternal life. For what ? Isn't this life sufficient ? Why human beings have this urge to be eternal ? What's the problem into becoming nothing ? You won't feel anything. We were nothing for billions of years. Indeed we are already nothing. We have a day, an appointment to become nothing again. I can't see why this isn't pointless. Everything is ultimately pointless. Accept that, and it's fine. 🎉🎉❤

Regarding attachment to things in order to enhance the ego. What about certain tools a worker needs to do certain kinds of work ? Examples ??? There are hobbyists or shop owners who have quite a collection of tools. Some of those folks could not make a living without them. Their job description may be Machinist, or Welder, or Furniture maker. Not everyone is an intellectual. Even intellectuals write books. Their tools may be a computer, typewriter, or just a pad of paper and pencil. Those tools define who they are because of what they do . . . their profession. Without attachment to those tools they would have no trade, no job, no profession, no income. Comments ?????????????????????????????

_"Regarding attachment to things in order to enhance the ego.... Without attachment to those tools they would have no trade, no job, no profession, no income."_ It seems like you answered your own question. Earning a living -- choosing tools based upon value, reliability, quality vs expediency -- isn't "to enhance ego." Attachment would be image over substance. The entrepreneur who drives a luxury car, fine clothing, exclusive home. All because that's what an entrepreneur should have if they're successful. Being the image before being successful.
@piehound
@piehound Жыл бұрын
@@markfuller good answer. And i expected that because i know that Mr. Tolle means exactly what you said. But some folks define themselves (and hence their ego) by what they do well or do best. These honest workers do NOT place mere appearance above real skill and real accomplishment. I believe there are such people. Just as there are shallow and dishonest workers. Thanks for your answer. Update: Some folks have the strange notion that life is meant to be enjoyed . . . and that work also is meant to be enjoyable. So why not enhance your enjoyment of work you do well ???? If ego is your pleasure . . . then why not ????
