correction: seasons has the gardener career and it includes things like flower arrengment, it uses logic skill, gardening skill (kinda obviously), etc

I despise ONE of the holidays : Neighbourhood brawl. If you don't check the calendar regularly, it'll creep upon you as it only visible less that a week before it happen. With Seasons, you gain the ability to plant things without any planter. Yes, if any holiday have the «Go Streaking» tradition, you'll encounter a lot of random Sims streaking...

I always put in a holiday called “freeze nuts day” and I make it the day before winterfest.. the holiday includes the polar plunge and streaking, so lots of sims don’t make it lol..

You should do a sims4 pack tier list based off how similar the trailers were to there actual gameplay

If I had to pick one, I'd pick City Living. It adds apartments and hints of many different cultures and new recipes from them (also singing and karaoke). For me the pack feels pretty realistic. For those reasons, I think I'll enjoy the new pack too, depending how buggy it'll be...😅

For me it’s seasons, city living and cottage living especially cottage living changed a lot of my gameplay for me.

Satch, please put the seasons house on the gallery! It's so cute, and for me who only have about half the packs and no kits its so hard to find cute houses that I can use without having to replace lots of objects (although I'll probably replace or size down that coffee table XD)

Ik there's prolly others who have integrity, and ones who don't lie, but a majority are scared the sims team will not give them free stuff anymore if they say anything negative (aka an honest review). I have 2 expansions seasons and get together. I don't need more. But when I got get together I had the feeling I could do so much more. I liked the cafe, the clubs, builtmode and ineractions between sims were so good. I really love seasons but i like get together a bit more.

I’ve heard City Living often come up as one of the best packs rather than Cats & Dogs.

Just buy Seasons if you only want to buy one expansion pack. Weather is so important (to me anyway)

This should be a series, is it? Playing with one pack installed, review a few per video. can compare how each pack feels without cross pack involved.

It really sucks too with Growing together bc...the reason I REALLY want it is because of the bunch of afro-textured hair that we are SEVERELY LACKING in any pack especially basegame. I like cas and build mode but the gameplay looks subpar...but I feel like I have to get it it on sale...and pay 20 dollars for HAIR. EA is really unbelievable with this, why do I have to pay for box braids and afro styles? Console players always get the short end of the stick bc at least pc players can download whatever cc is out there, while WE have to PAY for pretty much necessities for our sims. Sick of this🙄

I love rustic builds so I use Seasons all the time for building. I also enjoy the passing of seasons, so it's a must for me. I use to think that I could do without cats and dogs, but if you want realistic gameplay it allows your sims to do things with your pets that adds more entertainment. Growing Together is just great for more realistic life changes. Having different stages of life is challenging and fun, so why don't we have preteens yet?!!! I love the sims game, I just don't love the years it takes to have packs, kits, and worlds doled out to us for such large price tags. Especially, with the financial struggle we have around the world right now.

I think the weather control device needs upgrades to work very well. I'm not sure, but the device could possibly work better with a higher Handiness skill too. The Handiness skill is also needed for the upgrades.

For years I owned only Vampires and I had holy lot of fun. So I'd say you can enjoy the game with one pack if you choose the pack well. Lately I play with just Cottage Living and this is pretty cool too.

I only have seasons and cottage living and I still have so much fun in the game. Just don't look at my mods folder theres just a few...

Get to Work seems like a better base game addition than Growing Together in terms of gameplay, (though its world is not great) but the careers and being able to add retail shops is worth it

Personally I would say that my two must haves as someone who mostly builds, are seasons for the outside, (and I know it’s not an expansion pack) but dream home decorator for the inside. I use both of them for every single build I do. Edit: I also love cottage living and get together (mainly for the worlds)

Thank you for the in-depth review! I really appreciate the outright honesty. Personally, I'd go with Cats & Dogs because I love pets and I think it adds to the game (I also love the world, which is very reminiscent of New England - I grew up in Massachusetts). I only have the base game and just cannot get into Sims 4 no matter how hard I try. I'll always be a Sims 2 (or even 3) girlie but I would love to see a video reviewing Sims 4 base game with only mods.

I love the shade at growing together, it's such an overrated pack. It literally the pack that make feel like pirating it would only be a 40gb waste of space in my PC (20gb for the installer and another 20 for the game itself)

The day when I only have one pack: Seasons, all my sims *be able to* sit down peacefully on dining area, together. Now, I have more than 10+ packs, no one sit.

When I was a console player I only owned seasons, city living, island living, vampires and the one about decor (i forgot the name lol). And I had so much fun playing, now that I have all the packs I feel overwhelmed bc there are a lot of options and things 😭 incluiding that some of those packs are broken.

I think growing together is a lot more enjoyable when you’re trying to play with an entire family. I still don't think it is all that but it's better than what was shown in the video.

One of the recent (second to most recent I think) updates sort of fixed gardening. Plants do still revert to mounds, but not nearly as often, I've noticed. In fact I played my last 20 babies in my base game only baby challenge and I don't think they reverted once. Art classes can be done in Get Together making an art club, as long as the host is level 10 artist and then can mentor the other members. Growing Together allows you to unlock 3 (not 2) additional traits in addition to the three you choose plus the bonus aspiration trait. I found Growing Together disappointing. Even more so because it was the first EP since TS2 Pets that I allowed myself to get excited about. Cats and Dogs is a Cape Cod vibe. The architectural style would be called Cape Cod or Cape Codder. I consider Brindleton Bay to be a near city to Britechester as that seems very Bostonian to me. I know you think it's England, and I sort of see that, but Boston is the home to Harvard and MIT, and the architecture does scream Boston to me. Of course, legitimately, Boston is very much more like England than the majority of the US because it was one of the first cities here.

I have all except Horse Ranch atm (waiting for it to be on sale because it's an overpriced game pack). I think Cottage Living is one of my most used packs, personally. It's kind of niche in gameplay, but I really like the world. Which is big of me because I wasn't looking forward to a farm pack at all.

I'd probably do Get to Work as the only pack. There's quite a bit of game play as it had the three new active careers, but also the retail stores and photography and baking.

How did you make it? How we can turn off packs in Sims 4?

I don't build and I'm not super fussed with CAS, I just need stuff to do during gameplay. So Get to Work is my #1 necessity. But ime I need quite a few packs for me to feel like the game is worth booting up to play.

I literally ONLY have Tiny Living and Have been having a blast, But I do feel continually hamstrung as someone who skipped from The Sims Complete Collection to Sims 4 by all the things I cannot do and its a certain kind of infuriating that so many things that would have simply been built into Expansions at that point in time are now divvied out into a stew of varying packs and kits.

Currently I don't have any but I'm planning on getting either Parenthood or Get together, other the that then when ever For Rent is half price if the pack isn't broken like other DLC. I don't want seasons because I'm an og Simmer, I skipped every sim game between 1 and 4, and Sims 1 didn't have seasons so I don't see why I need it (it always goes bad with weather in LPs for sims 4 I've watched). I would only get Cats and Dogs if I could control them. And you've recently pointed out how to get all the important stuff from Growing Gogether thru mods, so why should I buy for something I can get for free.

Most of my sims get the fear of the dark, it’s so weird. Also, my fish bowls and aquariums are completely broken, they don’t appear to have fish even when they do.

if I had to ONLY pick one pack, it would have to be cats+dogs only for having pets. I never use the world though. And then i'd go wild with all the mods that are base game compatible that add schools, sorcery, apartment mods, etc.

I personally kinda like growing together and don’t think it a total wast it basic and basically the base game 2.0 but when you have a family and enjoy that kinda playing can make the game better plus it makes the game a bit harder ,also it makes infants not totally useless. Pairs with parenthood it’s better and makes the infant - teen life stage more enjoyable . I would chose parenthood over growing together because it cheaper . But if you not a family game player don’t get growing together but as a family game player you don’t realise how basic infants is with out it

That’s interesting. I do like the bb in all these packs, but honestly, Growing together is so boring. it’s a bunch of features that should have been base game in an empty world. The bb is nice but they could have sold that as a kit. I guess I could say the same for Seasons except no world. At least Cats and Dogs has the vet, even if it’s not that deep. It doesn’t even have a dog park lot type like in Sims 3, but the world is decent sized and has some nice lots.

I feel that Brindleton Bay is a pretty world, however it's really upsetting that your sims can't swim in the ocean. There's a nice beach area that would be cool if you could swim, otherwise it's a boring, empty world just like all of them. This should be updated, as well as the older packs that don't have public swimming places or beaches.

Seasons is so overrated in my opinion there’s no world and you are paying for literal weather that should already be in the game and the sims just die because they freeze to death. Some of the holidays are so annoying too because your sims get sad if you cancel it

I'm not much of "familly/generational" player... so I did enjoy making a familly and raising kids with growing together... because it was a "new experience" but I admit I got bored really quickly... infants and infant milestones where fun to unlock (probably will never do it again) kids where kind of fun for 5 minutes (the time it takes to whizz through all four of the super easy new aspirations, play in the treehouse and learn to ride a bike) but by the time everyone was in their teens I was just so bored of playing in an empty (pretty) world with nothing to do but puzzles and powerwalking 😅

Not bragging: I have almost every single pack (minus a few of the kits) and I don’t even know why. It’s not fun even with every pack. It entertains me for about a week when a new pack comes out, but then I find myself downloading mods and CC very shortly after anyways. Yet I’m stupid and always give EA the benefit of the doubt with new pack releases. It’s a damn shame
