In a survival situation - be happy to have any knife with you! A good kitchen knife is better than no knife. For betoning just cut a wooden wedge to split the wood in a half. Anyway its a funny test.

Thomas christener is been 4 years from these comment of yours but I served in Iraq USMC and you hit the right spot any knife is a good knife for survival some of these videos are just for fun thanks for your smart comment..

cool video guys. you could try to do all those tests with a santoku knife, as the Internet is loaded with questions like what's the difference between french chef knives and santoku knives :)
@DutchBushcraftKnives7 жыл бұрын
a santoku is much thinner and most likely hardened to a higher HRC so it would break even faster. I have some very nice santoku knives but i prefer to keep them nice looking hahaha. I don't think a pure kitchen knife video would fit our channel anymore. I did make kitchen knife videos in the past. thanks for watching and stay sharp!

@DutchBushcraftKnives7 жыл бұрын
Hey Luke, it's a bit to tactical for our liking. This knife is made for stabbing so it won't perform well as a bushcrafting or survival knife. the 1095 steel is a bit of a budget steel. It can still be decent with the right heat treat though. Depending on the purpose you want it for I wouldn't recommend it. I don't think it's full tang either. If you wan't one with guaranteed quality I would recommend to look at Ka-Bar. they are mostly made out of 1095 Cro-Van which is also slightly better than regular 1095. Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear but i still hope it can help you decide!
@rootbeer8157 жыл бұрын
Dutch Bushcraft Knives yea I understand... I think I also heard you guys say that you didn't like combat knives. And neither do I, I just wanted to see it go to its full potential but yea I understand. I would always recommend a bushcraft knife as well.
