I think it's safe to say that stretch of track needs fixed!

They did do a tie project last year, which improved things a bit. Ever since E. Hunter Harrison massively downgraded St. Louis as a destination on the CN system, this once proud main line has basically been relegated to a lightly used branch. One can hope they find new business and new ways to route traffic this way in the future.

@@scottn940 Figured he had something to do with it. CN is no stranger to poor business decisions. They (GTW prior to the merger/restructure/consolidation) lost a huge chunk of business in southern Ohio after the DT&I Royersville Tunnel collapse. They basically surrendered what business they had to trucking, shortlines (IORY), CSX, and NS. I guess Ohio wasn't a big market for them, even after they gobbled the DT&I? That'd be like if the UP decided to completely abort the MKT lines in southeastern Texas after the 1988 merger.
