I've never had trouble with drinking. I was even a whisky critic and made pretty good money from it. I quit that job and I'm not drinking these days. But I'm far more addicted to sugar and carbs than even coming close to a booze addiction. I wasn't programmed to drink from the time I was born. In fact, I was programmed NOT to drink. But it wasn't some bugbear. Just a non-issue. My parents were teetotalers and Christian Scientists. Not even coca-cola in the house because of caffeine. No pain killers except at the dentist. No drugs at all. No vaccines. However, my dad's dad was an alcoholic. So that played into my dad's aversion to anything booze related, including avoiding family holiday parties at friend's houses who drank. IMO, sugar and carbs and manufactured foods kill far more Americans than booze or cigarettes. Obesity is the Number One killer. And it's that way by design. The powers that be created that problem on purpose to thin the herd and limit the amount of people drawing social security checks and medicaid.

I’m so glad I found your channel. Your story is so much like mine. I quit for a year and then started back again. I need to quit again. For some reason I thought I could control it , but it’s worse!! I have friends that really pressure me to drink even though they know I don’t enjoy it at all anymore. Probably my biggest obstacle right now.

That’s is so common! After a while you think, I can have just one…… but no! It slips back to where you were before and then it’s back to the same problems. I knew that from watch my dad. So I know not to try it!

Nah, your hangovers may be more debilitating and your life more of a 'wreck' (I don't know). But addiction is still a prison that we all need/have to break free from. Good luck, I'm still fumbling with the keys .
