Yeah that one way mirror Idea you gave me is so badass, I'm making that shield now! and honestly I wouldn't worry about a mold release to much, that carboard can be scrapped out with a putty knife and some soapy water! I used a little thinner as well, just slid right off. But I guess if you want to skip clean up then yeah, silicone is inert, so it shouldn't react to the resin at all, I use that alot and the car wax for molds.

www.instructables.com/id/Plauge-Doctor-Mask/ was the basic pattern I used, however I made the bottom section from scratch to form the shape. But the over all design is based off this guys pattern for sure, I printed it out and glued it to some cardboard and formed it to shape, then hot glued it for better stability and shape.

I have heard of CMF before, and I do have a friend that has a forge that could reach temperatures for molding metal in this way, the question is if I can get a blowing agent ( the item that cases the metal to foam). It would be interesting to see what I can find out, I'll look into it! thanks for the comment.

Not at all lol. I add them to my list of things to look into, it keeps me interested in the projects I'm working on. You never know when something will take you by surprise, a friend of my was the one that suggested I look into HDPE (the plastic used in milkjugs) for armor, and now that's my most viewed project. and another subscriber suggested when I tested my stab armor to use a crossbow or compound bow, which was a great idea. Someone else suggested using mirror window glase for a riot shield, I love that idea and used it in this mask as well. Your suggestion improve my videos I feel, and keeps my focus on new ideas. It adds something unique to the process, and sometimes I'm already looking into something and it encourages me to pursue it harder now that I know someone else is curious about it. Tech this out meow it all makes sense, right now im trying to find a metal visor and put my ballistic glass in the middle, (think atlyn helmet) but much cheaper i cant find the metal, do you have a recommendation for what to laminate acrylic with polycarbonate? I saw your bullet resistant glass video and i wondered if you figured out any other products or resins would work best for acrylic and polycarbonate? Thanks
