Gotta say Scotty, it's so cool to see how far you've come since the "Scottie's garage" days. We're all learning along the way with you mate and getting a good few laughs along the way. @@STREETMACHINETV permo usually only lasts for a couple of drills then is warn away. That & if it is still on the bit, size depending i can go "2 steps before the black" if i need to go past the existing line I just put another colour on the right step for that hole on that day.

Totally unrelated to this video but seeing the poster hanging on the wall with all the Street Machine mag covers got me thinking. How much has the internet affected physical magazine sales? There was a time when you wanted to know about a car so you bought the magazine to read about it. Now all it takes is a simple youtube or google search. Do you have any sales figures for mags during the late 80s-mid 90s compared to today?
@STREETMACHINETV
@STREETMACHINETV Жыл бұрын
The 80s were peak magazine sales and naturally the internet has an effect. But there no way you can just google to find all the information about certain cars. You might find information about cars in general but you only way you find out about specific cars is if a magazine features it first

Hey mate I might not be right but, wouldn’t you of just been better off putting twin pumps IN the fuel tank? I don’t get the point of literally pumping fuel from the tank 30cm to literally another fuel tank to then pump to the motor? I get the theory when the surge tank is in the engine bay as there is some distance from the main fuel tank but not when it’s 30cm away from the fuel tank. Please don’t think I’m being a dick as I am no expert and I don’t mean to sound negative, I just find it a bit counterintuitive?
@STREETMACHINETV
@STREETMACHINETV Жыл бұрын
The standard tank doesn't have the capability to accept two pumps. You would have to cut the top out of it and do a custom set-up. plus you've got this massive expanse of fuel sloshing away during acceleration. The surge tank keep the pumps in a "bucket" of fuel and isn't affected by acceleration of cornering.
@keggaz9988
@keggaz9988 Жыл бұрын
@@STREETMACHINETVI guess it would also depend on the car’s application? As if it were purely for drag racing you could maybe get away with installing a fuel cell to replace the main tank? that would accommodate the pumps and somewhat act as a surge tank with the pumps submerged? Obviously would have to keep the thing topped up, But if it were a daily or circuit race car I could see the need for a surge tank, I can’t see drag cars doing a lot of intentional high speed cornering 😂 the sloshing back and forth I get but if it’s filled up it should be fine? I was just surprised seeing this setup, is there a reason you chose the boot area? Space limitations in the front? It looks bloody mint tho and you have done a great job with the lines! It makes me want to make my own lines now lol. No negativity here mate just trying to learn 😊
