*I lost 120 pounds in 2018 on a Carnivore Diet, I maintained that in 2019. In 2020 I struggled with some weight gain and then lost it again in 2021. For the last few years I have been maintaining a healthy weight. In December 2022 I had skin removal surgery (tummy tuck). This channel just documents all of that journey and how our family lives normal lives and eats a meat based diet.

Laura, did you ever go to a real MARKET (MERCADO MUNICIPAL)? There is one in each neighborhood. Mercadona and Carrefour are Supermarket chains, (and Carrefour is French one), but not the best place to buy your food. If you are still in Madrid, try to go to Mercado de Chamartín, or Mercado de Maravillas. Those are local and real markets where restaurant cooks (and Spanish people who know how to cook) buy their meat, fish, seafood, etc. Those supermarket chains, as well as many others, are just convenient since much of their food comes prepackaged, more similar to USA style…and it’s successful with young people or people without time, for its “convenience”. But it doesn’t represent the way we shop our meat in Spain, specially in the carnivore community. (in this case, we buy pastured beef, straight from the provider and having it sent to home, similar to carnivores in the US…or at least we buy in trusted ”Carnicerías”- butcher’s shop) I hope you are still around so you can visit a Mercado Municipal. And they are very interesting to film too. By the way, the “whole fish”, as difficult as it seems to you, it’s actually easy because they clean it and prepare for you (depending on how you want to cook it). An easy way to start is cooking it in the oven. 😊 Have a safe trip back home!

The bacon fact is really interesting. I would love to get just thinly cut uncured pork belly, but here in Austria there is no way. Everything locally produced is cured. You only get prosciutto crudo uncured, but I wouldn't waste this for bacon and eggs.

I went to family night tonight at lighthouse church in Joshua Tree ca for free full course dinner followed by 1 hour of bible study. happens every wed. free meals each week. I ate lots of chicken thighs and chicken drumsticks followed by some rice. skipped the deserts. the brownies were very tempting. good night from california.

Okay this is so weird! I’m carnivore (-60lbs since November 2023) and I’m going to Spain in October, France, and Italy in October and November!! LMNT gave me really intense diarrhea and so did Liquid IV. Love this video thanks!

Most likely it's the magnesium in it. Certain types act like a laxative. Drinking it periodically and not chugging it might help.

Thank you Laura. I appreciate you sharing your experience. I actually live here in Spain but in a very small village so its interesting to see the bigger chain markets. I also found the fish the most intimidating as well. Most dishes are with simple ingredients because the product is so fresh and amazing. When in doubt just a bit of salt, garlic, parsley, olive oil, garlic & a bit of white wine. American beef does have a distinctive taste & I miss American hamburgers. Here since the meat is very lean it lacks the full flavour. Even in McDonald's or Burger King the meat is locally sourced. Also thanks for the tip about Picaña here it can also be labeled Tapilla.. its like butter and so flavourful. Gracias & bien viaje. Have save travels home.❤

I love grocery stores and food markets!!! Interesting about the food tags. Walmart in my area of Ontario, Canada has their beef tagged. When it's scanned, a double beep tells you that it won't set off the alarms. Thanks so much for sharing your Spain videos. It's nice to see how well you and your family fit into the Madrid culture! :)

Where in Ontario Canada are you?!!! My neighbor has grass fed Speckle Park beef cows and sells meat at excellent prices. Let me know...he is helping people afford to be on carnivore...meat here is getting ridiculous in price, as you know!

I am in 🇨🇦London, Ontario…today is the last day of the Walmart 🥓Bacon sale… I buy online…limit 10 and I have my purchase delivered. Price…$3.27/pack, I believe. But Walmart is not typically inexpensive. They only feature one protein per flyer. Otherwise, I find METRO much cheaper for meat….tomorrow June 27 metro has T-bone $9.98/lb…excellent price. Custom order the Florentine cut which is about 3” thick. Debone when you get home and you have fabulous tenderloin and NY Strip‼BONUS…keep bones for bone broth‼😋😋😋

The beef prices actually looked pretty typical for most anywhere in the US. Not everyone has access to Costco or Sam's Club. But wow, such nice new shiny looking shops and stores. Hope you arrived back home safely.

A lot of what you've said in this video is true about Australia too. After WWII, lots of Italians and Greeks immigrated here so brought a lot of their food customs here. Most supermarkets have a big fresh fish section, and there's a few fish shops around. Most of my friends buy fruit & veggies at a fruiterer instead of supermarkets (they tend to be cheaper). Although most people I think still get most of their meat at supermarkets, because the butchers are usually far more expensive.

Best beef I've ever eaten is by far from the Speckle Park Breed of cattle. This breed has natural marbling throughout the meat, so even cuts like outside round is pretty good, has some marbling and is more tender than other breeds of cows I find. Look for Speckle Park beef in the USA or other countries like Spain when your there next time! Thank you for sharing ❤ Next time can you share more prices of things

Similar here where I live in Melbourne. We have delis that sell sliced meats, also the green grocers have their fruit and veg but also a few grocery items. Also a local butcher. I prefer to frequent local small business rather than patronise the big conglomerates. 👋🏻🇦🇺

In Europe, they call our bacon "streaky bacon" and they are NOT very fond of it. I would have been cooking those whole fish everyday. I have never heen intimidated by whole fish becayse I grew up eating thrm that way. The cheeks and collars are the best part of the whole fish. Plus it's the ONLY way to know that fish is truly fresh. Beautiful meat counters.
