He was a great judge but not the most professional, watch more trials and you will see many good and professional judges. This judge had a relatively easy job because everyone behaved nicely, check out the trial of the guy who killed quite a few people in the Christmas Parade in Kenosha. This loser fired his lawyers and presented himself he screamed at the judge and didn’t wish to sit. He many times interrupted the judge while she gave instructions and played the victim when she asked him to leave the room and watch the trial on the zoom listening and could react from an adjacent room. She had so much patience with him because she must provide him the defense he needed.

@@notinavacuum5966 Why not? That person said “the most professional" with all due respect for that judge, but there were others who had a much more difficult job, like that judge I mentioned in my previous comment. She had to deal with the most obnoxious, rude defandant who insisted on defending himself; she kept her cool and was very professional. If you haven't watched that trial, I recommend you do, and you will understand what I mean by professional.

A friend of mine’s mother spent a short time in prison for embezzlement. She later said all the money in the world was not worth one day in prison and this was in the 70’s. Can you imagine how horrible it is now? I think he is a sociopath but even that couldn’t insulate him from the horrors of prison. He will never again sleep in a comfortable bed, eat a good meal, enjoy holidays nor feel the wind on his face while hiking in the woods. A high price to pay.

The one thing I disagree with the prosecutor about is that he killed them over 'a minor inconvenience'. After 4 years in a rehab centre in is stomach he passed away. He got a massive payout. 2.8million. Grandparents had already passed away. I was the only next of kin…….so we thought. He had no Will. No apology, nothing! Not to his parents, his brother; his girlfriend (hopefully now the ex) or any of his family! Given the opportunity to apologise or show emotion, and he still didn’t! This monster is full of excuses! Also, the fact your lawyers clearly don’t want anything to do with him says everything! The judges words were perfect! Only to be let out to be buried, unlike what his parents got!

I watched the prosecution's opening statement and I was glued to this trial. Glad to have seen it through. I must say though, the judge brought up that there is something going on in the way the defense represented halderson, the lack of effort certainly is an appeal point, and as sad as it would be, given the right lawyer he could actually win on appeal.

I'm surprised that no one saw that side of him. I always know an empty person when I meet them. They literally leave me cold. In fact, I knew someone like him and I asked, "Are you a narcissist or a sociopath?" He replied immediately: "The latter. I've known it since I was seven years old. I just don't feel emotions like other people." That shocked me, even though I had guessed it. But what really scared me was that he leaned across the table (we were eating out) and said, in a threatening voice, "And you're NEVER gonna tell anyone, right?" A shiver went through me, and that was, for me, the end of our (platonic) relationship. I can't imagine how his girlfriend is feeling. Devastated, I would think.

When chandler spoke he exhibited no emotion. He thinks the problem people have with him is that he doesn’t have feelings? No! It’s that he hasn’t shown REMORSE or even sadness! For all we know he could be seething with anger and contempt for everyone in that room! I think he most likely is filled with negative emotions he chooses not to exhibit. He sounded just like a robot. I really hate him. It angers me that he didn’t mention his parents or that he feels bad about what he did. Not only is it offensive to everyone in that courtroom but it’s just plain disrespectful and rude. He doesn’t even have an understanding of basic respect let alone sympathy for the lives he’s effected.

Stop spoon feeding your children everything they want, make them work for what they desire. I like the idea that Chandler thought the reason he was convicted is because he didn't show emotion. Not the enormous mountain of evidence, the trail of the dumbest criminal plot executed in the stupidest way that leads right to him, or his public behavior every step of the way while his parents were "still missing". I feel bad for Cat who was wound so tightly with someone she just couldn't have known had this in them, and Mitch who lost his whole family in one fell swoop. And for both of them realizing that if he would have butchered his parents over a snowball of lies, what would prevent him from chopping up a girlfriend or a brother?

His words spoke volumes. Sadly, there was no remorse or expression of sadness . In the end, he destroyed the people that loved him the most in this world who most likely would have forgiven his lies and mistakes. But even if they didn't, he had the choice to walk away. I often wonder how people live with themselves after murdering someone especially a family member. Most of us are coded with compassion, empathy and regret but my guess would be, anyone that can kill and cut up their parents bodies cannot possible feel much of anything. Sad

@@mariella2884 they had an abusive birth father, so some of it was ingrained in them early on. All I can do is try and teach them how they, how we all - for that matter, should be with empathy, sympathy, and just general kindness. I'm not perfect and I've been known to be a firecracker, but I've learned a lot after leaving my ex. My kids are in counseling, one is on anxiety meds, the other is still kinda entitled-acting, but they are learning the older they get that life doesn't cater to you. You've got to earn respect, earn your keep, and earn nice things. If they screw up as adults, I can honestly say that it wasn't for my lack of trying. If they end up in jail, against their better raising, you can bet they'll sit there until they've learned their dang lesson. I love my children, but I told myself when I left their dad that nobody is gonna run over me again, and that includes my own children. They're slowly getting better, but it's taken years off my life.
