Changing the PCV Valve on a 3rd Gen Camry with the 5S-FE Engine

In this video I replace the PCV valve on the 2.2L Camry engine. The original valve had over 200k miles on it and was due for replacement. It's a very easy item to replace and worth doing since it is an important part of your vehicle's emissions system.
My Camry is a 1993, but this should also apply to all 3rd gen Camry years 1992-1996. 4th Gen Camry's with the same engine should also have a similar setup.
I recommend this as a good DIY project if you have some basic wrenching and electrical skills. All DIY repairs or modifications you perform to your car are made at your own risk. I assume no liability for anything you choose to do to your car, before, or after watching one of my videos.

Much simpler than I though. About to do this for my MR2. NA models share the same motor as these Camrys.

You didn't finish showing pushing the valve back in. It's an absolute sod to push back in! Any tips other than wriggling it and applying max pressure? I put a film of oil on the valve end and the grommet top, bt jeez is it hard to get back in!

Yeah it is! I tore mine trying to force it in. I put oil on mine too, to try to ease the process... Didn't help! Great question!

i’ve purchased about 3 of the rubber grommets and they tear every time i try installing the valve on it. no matter what i do or what i try they tear every time i’ve tried putting oil on them or wiggling them in there slowly they tear every time idk what i’m doing wrong. any tips?

Bottom part of old grommet fell inside, help?

I tried scooping it out, vacuum it out but it won't budge, I also just replaced my valve cover gasket too so I would hate to have to remove it again. Any tips?

The valve cover has a screen in it so nothing will fall all the way through into the valvetrain. I had some small pieces fall into the hole as well. Best I could do was use a needle nose plier to break apart any large chunks of plastic into small pieces so they were easier to pull up. I wouldn’t worry too much about anything left behind because the screen is there for protection.
