I see that it has been 6 years since you posted this video. I have to say thank you anyway. My husband died and now a lot of the things that he did I have to learn to do. This video helped me immensely and I appreciate it

Thanks Alex I really needed to know how to do this. Been meaning to replace my filer for quite awhile now and I didn't know how to. Your refrigerator is exactly like mine. This was a genuine must watch how to do video.

Great and very complete instructions. Especially the part about using the black cap as a handle. Honestly, I could not even remember where the filter was as this is our "garage" refrigerator, but we do use it for extra ice, so like keeping the filter clean. Thanks Alex!

Thanks for the great lesson. I went to the actual Whirlpool sight, and it took me almost an hour to do the same thing with your video. Kudos! Especially the part where you said you have to change that head piece. I had to order a new one because I thought it was part of the filter and i threw it away. God bless you.

Excellent video. Thank you Alex. You helped me change my filter. As a side note, I splashed water after I changed the filter, because I did not consider the sputtering from air pockets and pressure buildup once I turned the water back on (newbie's mistake). Next time I will run the water through the out-spout with a large pitcher underneath, instead of a deep glass to prevent this initial reaction. Really appreciate you taking the time to make this!

Thanks! After watching your video I changed my filter in about 10 minutes after I had put it off for a couple years... I got my filter for $39.95 from Amazon which was $10 cheaper than the local hardware. Just use your cell phone to take a picture of the model information (mine was inside the refrigerator on the right side above the top shelf) It's easier than trying to stick your head in the frig while writing down the model number.

THANK YOU for the very descriptive video!! Looked online for a manual, but couldn't find it... and you saved me a bunch of mistakes if I had just tried to figure it out on my own (like flooding and breaking the push button that I was trying to pull on!)

Thanks Alex, the happy face tip on the cap was very helpful. The filter finally seated in.

Great job, very helpful. You should also remind folks that once the new filter is in, to run water into a bucket from the fridge in order to purge the new filter before using it for drinking. Run about a half a gallon through it, or until it runs clean. Fill up a glass and let it sit for about a minute and then hold it up to strong light to see if it is crystal clear. If not, run more water into the bucket to purge the filter some more.

I'd have never thought to turn off the water or drain the water in the system. Thanks!

Haven’t changed the water yet, but this video answered the questions that I didn’t know that I had.
