I have an Asian grocery close to me that I go to any chance I get and I’ve gotten my husband and kids into so much of this food! The samyang ramen is our favourite and I get a miso flavour for our kids so it’s not spicy. Also I just got pickled radish for the first time and I’m excited to use your videos for ideas on how to use them!

I learned it from KZfaq lol Plant them where the dirt is 1 inch to 2 ins (4 to 6 cm for you lol) above the roots. Use potting soil. You can use any container that has holes to drain but something cute gives that extra touch. Put it in a South facing window. Or outside in a sunny spot AFTER, ONLY AFTER, it's been inside a week because the roots need time to get comfy in their new home :)

I love going to our local Asian supermarkets (I don’t think we have a Korean one, specially, though). I run into trouble with figuring out what I’m buying because if there isn’t any English on the packaging, I have to guess based on the pictures. For people who can’t read the language, what do you recommend when it comes to checking ingredients if there is not any English (or whatever native language the person speaks)?

i don't know if youll see my comment, but i LOVE your channel! I am absolutely obsessed with hoisin sauce and also gochujang because of you. I put gochujang in EVERYTHING, and its all because of you! i LOVE both the korean and also japanese flavor palettes, and it was from your channel i learned how to make sushi, and i learned how to use chili oil, and all of these other foods. I absolutely love kimchi, but theres no places near me that sell pickled radish :( !! I just appreciate your channel so much, and I love that everything is plant-based! thank you for your awesome content, because of you i can now make my ramen noodles absolutely punishingly spicy by adding gochujang 🤣🤣 my girlfriend loves this food too, she grew up with a friend of hers who is korean and so my girlfriend was always going to her house and eating traditional and authentic korean foods, and her friend's favorite ramen was always the shin black ramen! when i tried it for the first time it blew my mind. There is no H Mart in Nevada 😕. But we do have the 99 Ranch Market. They do have some Korean stuff. Unfortunately the one I go to here in Las Vegas lacks some Korean items. If I remember right they didn't have gochujang. But they did have Ssamgiang. I have some mild Ssamjiang in my fridge. Thankfully I my local grocery store (Smiths) has gochujang. They used to have vegan kimchee; but they don't anymore. 😕. I liked using kimchee for Korean flavored soy curl BBQ sandwiches. I would mix regular old BBQ sauce with soy sauce, sesame oil, and gochujang or ssamjang. I would toss some soaked soy curls in the sauce and pop it in air fryer. I would put the BBQ soy curls on a toasted hoagie roll and top it with kimchee. It's delicious.

Request: Rose, we have an H-Mart here in Colorado, but with so many options and a lot in other languages, it's very difficult to find the vegan options of things without spending so much time just reading things. Would you consider doing a walk-through of H-Mart and the different vegan options of the not so obvious products? Does that make sense? There are things with big bold English wording that I'm able to determine. However, a lot of the better products are not in English and sometimes difficult to decipher if you don't read any other language. It would be greatly appreciated! :):):)

maybe you can use only half a packet of seasoning with the ramen and stuff. Or use half a package of something else and bulk it up with extra veggies and proteine! Good luck and definitely look into upping your potassium intake to balans sodium. X

Now and then I go to our local asian market for mushrooms. They are always so expensive though. I can't get them often. They had nori sheets in there for $10 a pack 😭 Everything was expensive aside from tofu.

Sadly the closest Asian supermarket is the equivalent to a hole in the wall and I wish it was like your H-Mart. It does however have a surprising selection of Asian goods. Thanks for sharing and next time I go I will have to keep some of the things you bought in my head or just make a list to see what they have and what I can find.

Just q quick comment about your mushrooms, the bigger ones, the 'shimeji mushrooms' are also known as 'beech mushrooms' which maybe the confusion with them being called 'sea mushrooms' but its not spelt 'beach' as in the sea side, its 'beech' like the wood so I may be totally talking rubbish here and completely wrong but it's not totally out of the realm of possibility is it ?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Don’t know which H-mart location you’re at (Toronto? Vancouver?) but the one here in San Diego (smaller than yours) doubled the prices in Dec on nearly every mushroom they sell. There goes my mushroom diet. Now nearly all the more popular noodle brands at H-mart have sugar and palm oil, which some vegans avoid. Re Korean zucchini - I think they’re milder than the regular type. At least, a I’m a fussy supertaster and don’t mind the Korean variety (they don’t make me gag like regular zukes)

It's amazing that you have the stuff labeled in english as well. At my asian store they dont do that so i just guess 😂 altough they are required to label it by law but asian stores are beyond law 😂

To my knowledge S&B curry is non-vegan as it contains sugar refined using bone char. Not sure if it depends on region.
