@@Heliophanus I think futurama already made that joke with the cat people. Though possibly? I would argue that eating anything too intelligent is amoral but if the human-like animals were as dumb as chickens I could see a lot of people eating them. Of course that brings into question if eating pigs is a problem because they are intelligent enough to be taught to play video games much better than any dog and we humans do look like pigs. We both look and taste like string-up hogs, that is why cannibals call human meat "long pig." So we do eat something pretty close to us. They use pigs for a lot of tests because our immune systems are so close you can just pop a pig organ directly into a human body. If this alien species look more humanoid that probably wouldn't stop us, all things considered.

Well it's not Doom Eternal, but there is a mod that kind of hits what you're looking for. Classic Doom has "The Adventures of Super Chicken and Wondeer" where you play as the aforementioned Super Chicken.

I love Chew. But I LOVE Poyo. Between him and Battle Beast from "Invincible," IMAGE comics really had a monopoly on "comedically overpowered" side-characters for a bit.

xkcd 1211 did describe it beautifully. By any reasonable definition, T. Rex is more closely related to Sparrows than to Stegosaurus. Birds aren't descended from Dinosaurs, they ARE Dinosaurs. Which means the fastest animal alive today is a small carnivorous Dinosaur, Falco Peregrinus. It preys mainly on other Dinosaurs, which it strikes and kills in midair with its claws. This is a good world.

As someone who has raised chickens for a while, this is pretty much how they are, yep. They're the destroyers of worlds, killers of humanity, hopeless masses of feathers and pain. AND I LOVE THEM, JUST LIKE I LOVE THIS! Chew doesn't seem like my thing, but hey, that was great. Also Pollo. Run before you become food, king, you can do it!

Doomguy does at least get some extra bits of characterization in both incarnations. In OG Doom, he refused orders to fire on civilians and was sent to Phobos on security detail as punishment, and in the 2016 game we see his compassion on display when he opts to backup Vega despite no prompting to do so. Also he fistbumps the action figures and that's adorable.

I highly recommend looking it up sometime because it is one of the funniest and most well-written things I have ever seen, period.

5:47 Personally my family has a history of heart problems (namely three of my grandparents including my grandfathers) so I am trying to mostly eat white meat so if I were in that world I'd either eat lots of turkey or if the avian flu got turkeys, tuna. Both which I thankfully like almost as much as chicken.

One thing I noticed about Poyo is that he knows how to make an entrance. And every time he does, an elaborate word box appears with his name in it. And I pretty much assume it is the equivalent of having a mariachi band playing him in singing "🎶POYO!!!🎶"

As someone who’s lived in England my whole life and knows how place names work, I’d wager you nailed the pronunciation of Freeholdshire On Marsh. However, since it’s a fictional town that seems to exist in part for the purpose of satirising English place names, the Chew writers could have intended for it to have a much sillier pronunciation - who the heck knows?

Okay three things: 1.) I've been spelling Pollo's name wrong all this time in all my comments and in that fanfic I wrote that look at what you and you're crew we're up to in 2023 during the Future's End Review. That is very embarrassing. 2.) So basically, Chew's power is a variation of the rare Jedi/Sith Force Ability Psychometry, the power to see the history of objects by touching them. And finally 3.) That's a nice looking old school small TV you got set up on that wall by that other room. And now I wonder what that room is used for, Pollo's recharging station, storage for equipment like Dr. Linksano's stuff, Moartie's coffin?

I thought that would skip this one due to some of the subject matter but, I am very happy that I got to watch it!!! I think that I might even buy some of the comics one day!!

Now I want to see a Death Battle between Poyo the Chicken and the Killer Rabbit from Monty Python and the holy Grail. Also no comment on the weird realistic photos of people and scenes from movies scattered throughout the backgrounds of some pages? I'm pretty sure I saw a photo-realistic picture of Bin Laden next to Satan's throne and a screen-cap of Rose and Jack in Titanic doing the "I'm flying!~" thing on the director's desk. Also-also...when are we gonna follow up on what Mechakara has been up to after the "Linkara Clone Saga" thing?

The way I'd like to see this (in my head)...is that Poyo or Pollo eventually grows up to be the Hyperchicken lawyer from Futurama. NEITHER ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THE LAW, and both are chickens. IT WORKS PERFECTLY!!!

Linkara's admitting his love of chicken is such a mood. I'm close to living on chicken to the point that if I ever have fish for dinner it's a surprise to my family. If chicken was banned I too would starve to death. Or eat more fish, but mostly starve.
