The difference is that Pogba gets the accolades when he plays well and gets slated when he doesn't. Also in regards to your media being extremely pro English, you should see the way the tone and targets have slightly shifted since Newcastle got Howe in. @@TheLambchop29 They were tactically better and better with individual player management, most likely (Eg. Poor treatment of Greenwood and penalty selection etc.). But the way Southgate presents himself and given todays media onrush, he does deal with the media better than most I've ever seen imo, I don't agree with half of what he says but it's somehow tolerable. I think he is one of the most intelligent we have had, if not the most intelligent for that reason. Hoddle, I remember things not going too well for him with the media at one point, I won't remind people why. I'm antitheist, but that wouldn't stop me being a friend of his so long as he can accept that aspect of my personality. ;)

Danny Murphy was one of the most cultured and intelligent midfielders in English football. It's not all about goals, Jim. Other than that, McGuire is an immature individual. That's evident by his behaviour in & out of football on occasion during the last couple of seasons. Roy Keane was right. And any accusation of "Bullying" is just a pathetic snowflake reaction from footballers who need to stop being so over sensitive and precious. If these guys expect to earn millions of pounds kicking a ball around, then they can also expect criticism when they're not performing, or acting like children. Football needs more Roy Keanes.

I totally agree with Danny - I was cringing when he did it because I think Harry will be really embarrassed in hindsight - he probably just got excited because he had scored. He tried to deny it afterwards which just compounded the embarrassment

Beckham got destroyed by the media for the silly spat causing him to be sent off against Argentina. He took it on the chin, took responsibility and scores one of the most important free kicks against Greece. He didn't try to silence the critics. He answered them on the pitch and won the fans.
