I had an e10. I put a quiet pump on my 5kw heater. It worked for a month. Idk if the quiet pump was rated for 5kw, but when I put the original loud pump back on it, then it worked. Glad I didn’t have to take it apart to clean soot and air intake Btw it looks like ur pump is upside down to me. I’ve heard it can have air bubbles if not at the proper angle

@@belgrave1984 Hi I just found your channel. I have the non digital controller (with a turn knob) and the lights on it are flashing in a way that don't match the error codes 1-8. Basically the light on the knob is flashing intermittently with the ten control setting lights surrounding the knob. Do you think I have error code ten? Is there a error code 9? Also do you think its worth me getting the digital controller I kinda don't want to if you can't turn the screen off at night when you want to sleep but I guess if it helps me diagnose problems easier it might be better?

I disassembled mine to clean out the soot because it would smoke and stop working. I would get e06 error as well. After cleaning it ran fine but stopped and i still got e06. I figures the chinese bearings were shot after 2 years causing the fan to run too slow. I adjusted the hall sensor didtance to the back of the fan and it worked again for a few hours before it stopped and giving me an e10 code. I made sure the fuel lines were clear but it still would not start. It would try but no fire and give me e10 errors. So, I took the unit apart and discovered that it was all gummed up with soot and unburnt fuel. I was surprised how quickly it gummed up inside after cleaning it. I then cleaned it out again and after this it runs perfectly. The fan noise stopped making me think I must have torqued the screws down wrong or something the first time I reassembled it. Btw my fuel lines are quite long but mine are the rigid nylon type. Those soft clear ones are not really suitable due to them absorbing the pulse pressure required for the burner to operate correctly. The burner requires a squirt not a dribble of fuel into the burner.

So i got the e-10 today after not running my heater for a couple months. The fix for mine was the hard fuel line was pinched inside the rubber line right at the engine. Make sure you have flow all the way through your fuel line.
@martehoudesheldt58853 жыл бұрын
lack of fuel can be caused by the vent in the tank cap blocked. (air in to get fuel out). i had that problem. Mount fuel pump with the output up and at an angel (about 15 deg from straight up) so air does not get trapped in pump .
@jasonhobbs56112 жыл бұрын
Mine isn't gravity fed and I've got a load of fuel line coiled up next to my tank which is a 5 gallon drum with a hole in the cap for my fuel line. I can honestly say that I've never had a problem with it, its not secured down because I use it in different vehicles.
@pstoneking34186 ай бұрын
I got an E10 error because I had too much of a voltage drop between the heater and my battery. This didn't allow the pump to run initially when tge glow plug was activated. During glow plug activation you could also see the display screen dim, indicating a voltage drop. Replacing the wiring with a larger Guage wire from the heater to the battery solved that problem. The end result was no fuel was being pumped.
@carpenterfamily61982 жыл бұрын
Watched a bunch these videos, none seem to tell how to get past or clear the Error Codes. I had an E-10 and could see tons of air in our fuel lines. But we could not enter manual prime mode. The keystrokes to enter prime only work from the default screen ( where the time is displayed ) ~ Being stuck on E-10 we could not solve the problem by priming. Eventually we unplugged the controller for a few minutes. When reconnected the E-10 gone and we were able to enter prime mode and clear the air from the lines.

Cheers for this pal, installed one of these in my shed and getting E10, no blockages in fuel line or tank. Your fuel filter is upside down (fuel going into filter from larger end) compared to other videos i've seen, and compared to my own, which was working fine, can they go either way around then ? Liked and subbed ).
@johnmck11475 жыл бұрын
Gday, looks like you have a few instillation errors there. 1. Metering pump is upside down. These pulse pumps must be in a vertical position to work properly, ideally between 15 deg and 35 deg if stationery and 45 deg in a van or mobile environment. 2. You are using the wrong fuel line, bore size is to large. Causes stress at pulse pump. 3. Looks like you also have the fuel filter on backwards. They only work properly in one direction. Trying to point you in the right direction. Good luck.

I just had a quick read up, found something that said fuel flows from the top of the cone to the base so if it gets full and fails it will collapse and hold fuel as opposed to pulling apart Classic example of learn something new every day

They say 90 angle on the fuel pump I have my straight down works fine for me as it sound a bit better straight
@johnmck11475 жыл бұрын
Hi C, Most filters are designed to be one direction, and most have an arrow. However if missing an arrow how I look at it is the inlet fuel comes in on the outside of the filter. The filter separates out the dirt and it then drops to the bottom of the bowl. If you have the inlet fuel coming into the "inside" of the filter any dirt or grunge will rapidly block the filter. J
@amyfu20472 жыл бұрын
Everything I’ve read says to make sure the fuel pump doesn’t point straight up and down. And that the arrow is supposed to be pointed upwards at around a 35 degree angle. Is that wrong??

I’m not sure about your language but cables are not lines and lines are not cables it’s a good thing you put it in the pop-ups the word line Next time okay. Remember to mention that the stiff fuel line should be at here too as you do not want any expansion of a Softer more pliable fuel line, along with the fact that the connecting rubber should be small and that stiff plastics should be pushed in as far as possible before clamping. Also I believe your pump is 180° off. However you have correctly put it in a vertical position as it should not exceed 45° angle from that vertical.

I’m sorry The phrase should be “adhered to”., and a razor blade or similar should be used to cut fuel lines....not ....I repeat do not use wire cutters are such thing as it has a tendency to pinch the end and restrict fuel flow. Hope this helps

When using less fuel, it begins to soot, any ideas on how to prevent the soot?? Like keeping the chamber hot, by manually lowering the fan speed (While keeping the fuel supply unchanged)
@belgrave19845 жыл бұрын
This is what I do I run it on high for 60 sec then on lowest setting then after u finished running the heater before switch it of run it on high setting
@Lucentlens2 жыл бұрын
So - while it's said that the low heat settings create soot, it's actually more the low combustion airflow which does. For any given level of fuel-rate, you can under-oxygenate it, & it will soot. You can correctly oxygenate it, & it won't. If you over-fan it, it won't soot, but will struggle to get to temp, leading to more fuel consumption for a given heat output. So basically - you're definitely on to the correct thing, looking at fan speed settings.

@MothKeeper5 жыл бұрын
Also look at the instructions as there are minimums to the lengths of fuel lines before and after the fuel pumps... Also fuel tank above the heater? Allowing gravity flow to the heater when switched off... These are all problems I have had from using these heaters in the last 10 years. Regardless of what problems with these heaters it is normally sorted with a new glow plug. Hope these pointers help.

30 degrees pointing up, having it the pump down like you have in the vid means the weight of fuel in the line from the tank, can push on the bearing and spring inside the pump, allowing fuel to pass by into the pump and poss onto the heater...

You got to tick and soft petrol pipe. That is vrong. This tape of pamp work as inector to. So this pamp suply deasel but also presorize fuel to flaming mash into the burning chamber. That is condition how fuel ignited byself. You must got strok of fuel in outgoing pamp line wich create bursting effect into the burning chamber. That fuel hit a flaming mash and creat a fuel fog which exploooo buuuum , katabum hehehhehe. So outgoing fuel line must be thin, nerrow and ridgid. Soft thick pipe line are not sutable.
