Top 5 all time male vocalist, imo. In no particular order: Freddie Mercury, Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, Ronnie James dio, insert your personal choice here to round it out.

Forget grunge for a moment - Cornell is among the elites in any genre. His timbre is among the greats regardless. I suppose Blind Melon wasn’t grunge, but Shannon Hoon needs a mention considering he was around during the hay day of that music. That dude had some pipes.

One of the great male ROCK vocalists of all time, not merely grunge. At that level, ranking them order seems impossible. He definitely deserves mention in the same breath as Robert Plant, Mercury, even Lennon. When it comes to pouring emotion on a song few singers, even in that rarefied field, can match Cornell. Definitely a gift to humanity. They all are.

Some people say that depression is just a state of mind. Depression is the realest shit anyone could ever experience. It's living but you're dead inside. Everyday waking up like there's no hope. We have to reach out to these people just to let them know somebody do care.
@MrDaryboy
@MrDaryboy 5 жыл бұрын
There's more to it than that although we should reach out to those in need the question is why do people think there is no hope when clearly there is. When your dead then there is no hope it's over.
@el34glo59
@el34glo59 5 жыл бұрын
They can say it's a state of mind all they want. But the mind is the most powerful thing there is. And having a depressed "state of mind" is absolute hell. I've been there . It's not something you shake. The mind is an unbelievable thing. And at the same time, it's brutal and the worst thing that there is. Just crazy
@el34glo59

@@MrDaryboy It's not that simple man. Ending it ends the pain in a severely depressed individuals mind. When you feel there's not an ounce of hope, and you can't control that sometimes because your mind is a huge part of who you. And that's what's telling you this. And you have to break into your sled and change it. And chemical imbalances all over the place are making it worse. It's like hacking yourself if you were a computer. And everytime you get close a new virus pops up. Or the keyboard breaks. Just hard. You can't shake it. You don't see the hope. People that done understand depression are like this. It's like trying to show a blind person how beautiful a sunset is. And for some reason they don't get it. They might smirk a little to get you to stop describing it, but they don't see it. Because they're blind. But the entire time you didn't know they were blind. It's like the mind can't see the hope. And your emotions can't feel it. And that blind person is walking around all day acting like he or she can see. No one notices. When really all there is, for him or her, is black. So it's hard. But yes there is help out there and you can make it through. Gotta reach out if you get to that point. Because remember, today might be the worst day of your life, but tomorrow might be the best. Holding out for one more day can change everything. I just wish someone was there when Chris was in that hotel room. He usually is with his wife. This time they didn't come. Also I don't want to get into a debate but we really don't know what happens when we go. I'm not religious, but I still hope Chris' soul or consciousness is on a postive journey because he must have been in hell to do what he did

@@el34glo59 Although I disagree I'll say first that was well said and I respect that. I actually have a lot of experience with depression, anxiety and even schizophrenia. All of which run in my family deep. I have been there and my point is the turning point for me was when I woke up and realized other things around me rather than just my own self. I've met a guy that was born with no legs that is an auto mechanic and litteraly climbs around the engine and goes to work. He has a better outlook than I did and he was born fucked up. Yes it is hard but yes life is worth it and as far as your point on where we go I'm not going there. I respect whatever anyone believes because that's you not me and me not you. That's something that is so individual specific that it's irrelevant to anyone outside that belief.

@@el34glo59 I've been there too. That's my point. I'm not debating you I'm offering advice because it's extremely helpful understanding that a tough life is better than no life. Someone either gets that or they don't.

Such a good cover...He's revered, yet underrated. In his heyday he was like the Mariah Carey of hard rock; he had an incredible voice and could just do things others couldn't, but you'd have to check out Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog for that. Also, he seemed very humble and unassuming; he was neither the showboating, attention-hungry front man nor the obnoxiously-tortured emo front man. Just a sweet, chill dude with a superhuman voice. If I was starting an all-time hard rock band he'd be my pick for lead singer.

Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike (official video). It's Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam sharing lead vocals back in their very young days. Pearl Jam was actually in the process of forming when they recorded the Temple of the Dog album/project as a tribute to singer Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone who had just died. 2 of the Pearl Jam guys had been in Mother Love Bone and Andrew Wood was a close friend of Chris Cornell. So it's really a Soundgarden/Pearl Jam collaboration while Pearl Jam was forming.

Chris Cornell is one of the top 10 rock/metal singers of all-time. Without question. So sad that he's not with us anymore :(

Brother, I graduated high school in 1996. I grew up with Chris. As a musician, he’s one of my biggest inspirations and you better believe I cried all day when that man died. I cover several of his songs, and I’m always proud to sing them. I pray he rests in peace. He brought joy and peace to millions.

I keep coming back to listen to this amazing rendition and cover and so much of it is your reaction to him, Chris Cornell what is a gift to everyone who loves music☆☆You do a great job with this reaction and you do it with humble dignity☆

This made me cry. I was so sad when he passed and then Chester passed 2 months later. We have to work on our mental health issues in our society. Check on your people. We all struggle in some way mentally and sometimes just a phone call to check on someone can make a difference. Tell people you love them because we are only here temporarily.

Ok I finally did it. I subscribed. You started reacting to my all time favorite singer/songwriter Chris Cornell. That was the straw that broke the camel's back.. Lol. Not to mention I like your reaction channel way better than any other I have seen out there. Well, stapleton is neck and neck with Cornell in my book, but I have only known about stapleton for about a year or so, but he's climbed to the top of my list in a quick hurry! Cornell I have been a fan of since the 80s, so no one will top him in my book. He has so many videos out there you'll never get through them all. But you'll sure as hell enjoy trying! This man has written a sh!t load of songs in his career than spanned over 30 years. Another musical legend taken from this world way too early. Keep up all the great work brother. I really enjoy watching how your taste in music continues to evolve. Don't ever stop.. The ride you're on is good for the soul. 🎸

I was at his last show here in Detroit! His final song was a cover of Led Zeppelin's In my Time of Dying! I can't help but think he was trying to reach out! I wish we had known! I wish we had recognized his pain! In hindsight everything is clear! F**k hindsight! I'm sorry! R.I.P.

This world focuses on materials. The first time I saw my boy singing. From the heart. I know, no matter what you have, or what you want. In the end, that crap means nothing.. Be there for each other. The crap we buy. Will be there longer than we will. Be cool to each other. Merry Christmas to all of you. Chris Cornell. Miss your Amazing voice. Take care of each other. Life is short .Love you all.

Hey please do, Fell on Black days, it's was done at the same session as this video its great. Enjoy checking out his music . I am looking forward to your reactions. I'm late to this video, but it's heartening to know that he's still reaching people and will continue to do so for years. His work has really connected with me from Soundgarden to Audioslave since high school 15+ years ago. Superunknown is still a masterpiece. He had wild range, control, and one of those voices that can't be replaced. He seemed like a genuinely decent dude as well. Another great performance from this session is Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eZeEqa2S1-C1qas.html Audioslave live in 2002; amazing performance: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/atqIZruZls-UcWw.html I recommend Gasoline (4:22) or Set It Off (0:47), since you've heard Like a Stone. (But you might want to hear this original version too.) If you want to check out music videos or studio recordings because older live videos aren't as high-quality, The Day I Tried to Live and Shadow on the Sun are my favourites from Soundgarden and Audioslave, respectively. The belting on those tracks was no joke. It's hard to see somebody going through something you're going through and not be able to help. We've lost too many too young, especially from the grunge scene.
