This is one of my all-time favorite covers by Chris Cornell. Fun fact: the reason they're laughing at the very start of the video is because they had just been talking about how Prince hated people covering his songs. Chris then said something along the lines of "in direct defiance of Prince's wishes..." and then started playing. Miss him a lot.

@@katrinadowey7659 SiriusXM re-aired an interview/performance special with Chris a couple years ago and I heard it on the radio. He sings several songs throughout, and the interview is very interesting in general. Here's the link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g5Oed7qTtKjRink.html They start talking about Prince at around 54:50.

That whole album is amazing. "Say Hello 2 Heaven", "Wooden Jesus", "Reach Down", "Call Me a Dog". One of the best random purchases I made. At the time anyway... Eddie Vedder was an unknown at that point and _Badmotorfinger_ wasn't out yet. On top of that I had no idea who Mother Love Bone and Andrew Wood were. But what a tribute. Beautiful album.

The best voice in rock for me. Insane range, power and grit. Unique tone, soulfulness and expressiveness and great dynamic. And also great storytelling quality. Simply the best and sorely missed!

By far my favorite version of this song. His cover of Billy Jean is really good also. Great reaction!! 🙂
