Time to try the CCI Standard Velocity in the Lithgow and the Christensen. Affordable and accurate. Canada Rob

Not fair Rob not at all. Shot my last expensive box of ammo thing I am out of the rabbit hole and come to find out it is just a trick door. I do have some CCI SV thanks "FRIEND" LOL

ELEY Tenex and other Match-type ammo are designed for rifles with harmonics found in barrels no shorter than 22-inches for Summer Olympic three position disciplines and Winter Biathlon events, up to a whooping 29-inches in the Valmet Model 55, aka Finnish Lion, which makes it practically silent with Eley Tenex and LAPUA Center-X due to the bbl length.

I have an old 22lr rifle, the Marlin 2000,, with a blue kevlar stock, it shoots 5 shot one hole groups all day long with match ammo at 50 yards, I have a leupold 24D bench rest scope with a 1/8 MOA Target dot reticle. You should try putting together one of these with the summer biathalon conversion, otherwise its a single shot.

Not watched but this video with the 22lr. Don't know if you've tried S&K ammo. My Ruger 10/22 likes Lapua Center X and Eley bench rest ammo but my CZ457 MTR likes the S&K match target flatnose and rifle match ammo. Can consistently shoot 3/8" groups at 50yds. Best in my 10/22 was a 10 shot group just under 3/8" @ 50yds with 1 flyer. Thought shooting 22lr ammo might be cheaper, but paying anywhere between $8 to $15 per box is like shooting 9mm, before the shortage! Still great fun for 4 or 5 hours and since with 5rd magazines you spend a lot of time loading. :)

You just got a new sub sir! I bought a Bergara B14r a few months ago and I love it. Shoots about the same. Likes the Lapua Midas+. I want to try Lapua Center x since most people say it likes that. I wish we weren’t in an ammo crunch right now...

I used a savage Mark V , with a target 22inche barrel. And a bushnell AR scope 5x35. Smacking dimes at 50 yards. .22 plinking is a blast!!

Try some Eley black box match, little less expensive. When shooting Eley ammo, always best to clean the rifle from previous ammo used, then fire 5-8 shots of Eley to condition the bore, then begin testing for accuracy. I shot many cases of the stuff over the years in rimfire benchrest.

Does the scope have a adj. objective? sorry but I can't tell from the picture. If it doesn't a A.O. scope may help with group size.

What is the distance? Maybe you said but I can’t find it. All I could hear is that the targets were “down range.” If at 100 Yds, the accuracy is sort of ok. If 50 Yds, my bone stock 10/22 with CCI SV is beating it.

What was your aim point? I don't think your aim point was small enough. Instead of aiming for the dot or diamond only use a small part of it, like the bottom where the line meets the circle or the diamond. You need a cheek rest installed. I noticed the pressure on the side of your face kept changing. Setup a cheek rest, it will help. Also you're a big guy for such a small rifle. Probably should add length to the buttstock as well.

My Ranger shoots better with a variety of ammo than my Rem 547 Target, however from time to time I have to tighten or losen the barrel thread guard or it would shoot stupid large groups, put on a silicon washer and that helped a lot.

My ranger loves Norma-tac .22 I’d say it shoots better at 50 then those Eleys did. But still about 12$ a box right now.

I stopped at Brownells today. They had the Performance Center T/CR22 stainless fluted bull barrel threaded. In a Hugue over molded pistol grip stock $388. I really want to shoot one.

My 10/22 Ruger will do that and better at 100yds. Best is 5/8" group of 5. SK long range...mostly 3/4"

50 yards?, 100 yards? What was the distance? If that was 50 yards the gun is unimpressive. 100 then its pretty darn good. I see soooo many videos and they never say HOW far they are shooting at. I do tests all the time BUT don't have all the video cameras and tripods to do videos. so I post pictures on 22 rimfire forum. with distance, ammo used and wind speed. All that MATTERS. Especially with a 22 LR.

DATR, well it seems you are still in the rabbit hole !! You need to regroup and try some standard ammo and just keep shooting hopefully that rifle will settle in or you will, ha, ha .................................

I hope you realize all .22 must be Lot tested, even Tenex and Midas +. A 1# trigger scared you? Several of my .22 rifles have 3 oz triggers. The Bergara I have ordered will have a 3 oz Jewel trigger. BTW Remington makes garbage ammo.

Last group was 0.536in -- Don't bash the rifle just yet might be more of the shooter. Because this thing is so light any slight movement shows up in the scope. This will take some getting use to by me.

Dayattherange I understand the affinity with the Ranger 22. But even with most expensive Eley ammo the result is still very average. During this COVID-19 time I decide to stimulate the economy n buy the following Ruger precision rimfire Shot very average at 0.6” 50 yards all day long Change to LILJA barrel And start shooting 0.3-0.4 inch at 50 yards and 1 inch or smaller at 100 yards with SK Pistol match and other match ammo Total cost of $850 ( slightly higher than ranger 22 ) Then I bought a CZ 457 LRP ,$1000 Right out the box it will shoot 0.3-0.4 at 50 yards and 1 inch at 100 yards. With SK rifle match , pistol match , Wolf ME and center X Then I re barrel my KIDD to KIDD 20” bull barrel 1 box with WOLF MT is1 inch at 100 yards. And I just bought a Vudoo. Will shoot the vudoo this week. I’m a member at rimfire central too since 2008. You are deep in the Christensen Arm rabbit hole brother 😁 I myself are not that impressed with that CA Ranger 22. Your lithgow however almost make me buy one 👍 Keep on shooting 💪

@@sofjanmustopoh7232 NO disrespect to dayathterange, but I agree - for a good rig AND Eley Tennex, I'd be hoping for better groups than that (there WERE some wind gusts part way through the vid, but seemed mostly still conditions). With my BRNO mod 2, I often find I'm getting a subtly different point of impact when I shift targets (yeah, "just the next circle over"), so something in my hold / grip / cheek weld has changed, therefore I wonder just how much of my group size is attributable to something *I'M* doing between shots? That said, I recently bought a CZ455 carbon, and (after ~ 500 rounds) I'm printing .45 cal holes (5 shot groups) at 25 yds with just cheap std ammo - so that's .23" spread (sub MOA). No "gap" between shots, just a larger hole.
