‘PLAY’ continues the voice of the deep night expressed by the previous single ‘Stay Tonight’, it contains the story of a more beautiful hot afternoon than the night which blurred the boundary between day and night. After a secret and private moment, the lyrics were filled with bold and striking words like the angle of the midsummer sun.
Starting with Remedy, CHANGMO's rap which presented a new narrative combining the title of CHUNG HA's singles was perfectly harmonized to complete a picture as if drawing a pupil.
This song is a Latin pop with various elements of reggaeton arranged in each section. The guitar sound at the verse is scattered off the beat with an iconic reggae rhythm, warms the space with an acoustic guitar sound and a synthesizer sound that unfolds instantly from the pre-chorus, then a brass section and dembow rhythm with the climax chorus light a heart to everyone with a feast of rhythm.
‘PLAY’는 이전 싱글 ‘Stay Tonight’이 표현했던 깊은 밤의 목소리에 이어, 낮과 밤의 경계가 흐릿해져 밤보다 더 아름답고 뜨거운 오후의 이야기를 담고 있다. 은밀하고 비밀스러웠던 순간을 지나 한여름 태양의 고도처럼 강렬하고 과감한 단어들로 가사를 채웠다.
Remedy로 시작해 청하의 대표 곡의 제목을 이어 새로운 내러티브를 선사한 창모의 랩은 마지막으로 눈동자를 그리듯 완벽하게 어우러져 하나의 그림을 완성하였다.
이번 곡은 레게톤의 다양한 요소를 섹션마다 배치한 라틴 팝이다. 오프 비트에 뿌려지는 기타 사운드로 레게 특유의 리듬으로 벌스를 환기하고, 프리 코러스부터 고조되는 순간 펼쳐지는 어쿠스틱 기타 사운드와 신디사이저 사운드로 공간을 데워, 절정으로 치닫는 코러스부터 시작되는 브라스 섹션, 뎀보우 리듬의 향연으로 모두에 마음에 뜨거운 불을 붙인다.

다른건 다 괜찮은데 후반부에 비보잉은 굳이 안넣어도 됐을것 같음. 곡 분위기랑도 안어울리고 막판에 앞에서 개인기 할때는 너무 어수선해서 뒤에서 군무하고 있는 청하가 눈에 안들어옴.

마지막 하이라이트에서 청하도 댄서분들도 다 신나서 소리 지르면서 춤출 땐 짜여진 안무대로 하는 공연이 아니라, 정말로 축제의 클라이막스를 보고 있는 기분ㅠㅠ 진짜 작품에 참여한 모두가 얼마나 극도로 몰입을 했으면 인터넷을 건너 작은 화면으로 보는 사람들마저도 몰입을 하게 만들까? 진짜 플레이는 레전드다... 진짜 미친 축제 그자체... 신곡이 아니라 무슨 축제를 끌고 왔어 갓청하...

I mean y'all kinda gotta give it to her for being so fucking versatile. Ever since she debuted as a solo artist (and even before that on HTS) she always branched out dance-wise. She gave us hiphop, vogueing, waacking, salsa, latino inspired dances etc. She constantly comes up with amazing dance concepts and she often choreographs her own dances. From a dancers' standpoint, she is probably the strongest female solo artist. And as someone said here in the comments, the relationship she has with her dance team is absolutely contagious and you can see they are really good friends off stage as well. It's like they aren't really _working_ for her, or dancing for her. They are dancing WITH her. The relationship she has with them is every solo artist's dream. And I've recently discovered that some of her dancers are actually her long time friends from school or something like that. Idk, it's really precious and wholesome, this whole thing :')

@Sumi Grg Yes she does. She choreographed Whatta Man back in IOI, and she takes part in choreographing her own dances too. Frankly, she does in fact have a team of professionals who do most of the job for her, but it's very admirable that a solo artist wants to take part in such matters, when she is by no means obligated to do so.

청하는 매 앨범 마다 춤 장르 도장 깨기 하는 게 보여서 노래 나온다고 할 때마다 이번에는 또 어떤 장르일까 너무 기대되고 또 솔로로 무대를 장악하는 힘이 있음에도 댄서들과 더 풍족하게 꾸미는 게 너무 대단함...센터에 서고 싶고 스포트라이트를 받으며 춤 노래 하고 싶어서 아이돌이 된 것일텐데 3분 가까이 온전하게 본인이 누릴 수 있는 시간이 생겼을 때 댄서들에게 그 자리를 선뜻 내주고 함께 무대를 만드는 아티스트가 얼마나 될까

헐헐 첨에 노래 시작하고도 다들 조금씩 움직이시길래 뭐지...? 했는데 어느 타이밍에 다들 뙇 하고 멈춰서 춤 시작하시는 거 완전 멋있다ㅜㅜ 중간은 뭐 말할 것도 없고 맨 마지막 엔딩때 청하 앞에 있는 남자 댄서 두분이서 큰 하트 서로 한 팔씩 하신 것 같은데 넘모 기엽다ㅜㅜ +허러럴 대박 180개라니ㅜㅜ 다른 분들에 비하면 적은 숫자여도 이렇게 많이는 처음 받아봐요ㅜㅜㅜ 좋아요 주신 분들 전부 감사합니다ㅜㅜㅜㅜ

여자 솔로가수가 할수있는 최최최대치를 뽑았다고 생각하는 곡임.. 그룹이 해도 어려운 다양한 장르와 구성을 소화해 내는게ㅜㅜ.. 물론 청하가 모든 춤을 다춘건 아니지만.. 진짜 이렇게 영상으로 볼게 아니라 어디 초청돼서 케이팝이 이정돕니다 하고 보여줘도 손색 없는 무대일듯..

진짜 상투적인표현이고 두말세말하면 입아플정도로 정말 청하는 춤을 너무너무 부드럽고 유연하고 가벼우면서도 파워있게 잘춘단거 다시느꼈고... 댄서들과의 화합이 하나의 멋지고 이쁜 예술작품이란걸 느낌.. 청하 무대가 늘 새롭고 기대되는 이유! 흰티에 청바지로 맞춘 의상컨셉이 청춘의 열정과 청량함 그자체가 느껴져서 너무좋다!🤸‍♀️ 라틴댄스를 저렇게 청바지입고 추니 고전적이지않고 캐주얼하게 느껴져서 신선함👍👍👍

진짜 볼때마다 느끼는 거지만 청하는 청하 그 자체로도 빛나고 스타성 짱짱한데 댄서팀들도 너무 잘하고 빛나고 둘이 합도 잘맞아서 청하와 댄서팀의 시너지가 합쳐져서 청하가 더더욱 돋보일 수 있던 것 같음

와 아니짐짜 아이돌이나 솔로가수 관심도없는데 진짜 청하는 정말 예술이다 그냥 가수 뒤에 백댄서가 아니라 한팀으로 보여서 더 웅장해보이고 생동감있고 100배는 더 멋있다 진짜ㅠㅠ 다른 솔로가수들 보면 나중에생각해봤을때 백댄서가 있던가 없던가 기억도안나는데 청하팀은 완전 뇌속에 각인.. 어쩜이러지 노래도 너무좋고 진짜 너무멋지다 ㅠㅠㅠ

하이틴 뮤지컬 드라마 그 자체...... 체육관에서 벌여지는 댄스 대회 같은 느낌적 느낌... 다 다른 장르 댄스 하던 애들이 한 팀 돼서 대회 직전까지 싸우기만 하다가 왜 싸우냐고 다 해버리자고 합심하며 맞이하는 영화 클라이막스 같은 그런 느낌적 느낌... 영화 한 편 다 봤네 진짜

As a dancer, it really is touching to to witness how chungha interacts with her dancers because she interacts with them just like her friends. You can see how passionate and hardworking chung ha and her dancers are because I've felt like their connection to dance itself is very pure. Looking at chung ha, I can't stop but to just stan harder because she always tries to give us something different and with that, I must say that chung ha is the Queen of Versatility when it comes to solo artists. Good job!

청하 무대는 항상 좋았지만 이번 무대는 진짜. 너무 구성이 지루한게 하나도 없고 재밌고 보고 또 봐도 축제같은 무대 ♥ 너무나 멋짐. 1,2절 청하 안무는 같아도 댄서분들 구성을 다르게 줘서 너무나 구성이 진짜 굿!

Sadly yes 😢😢. Even she has released many song project, collaboration, CF, hit comeback.. she actively release song every month, still didnt get much attention. All people know about her is she is only good at dancing maybe. But as Chungha said not everyone can like her. She can't cater to everyone taste. I hope she can be the top solo artist in kpop and bring people to know more bout her and her company. Make her company the same level as Sm, yg, jyp, bighit 🔥🔥
