Either one of those are great! Definitely anything in the sciences but you can pretty much minor in anything you want. Do not limit yourself to what is interesting to you :)

I worked as a pharmacy technician while I was in school. While it was not directly related to my major, it was a health care job.

Right😮‍💨, for MLS its a very specific degree and i feel like u cant move around to much u basically just work in lab and some ppl tell me "what if you get bored" like imma live 50 years of my life working in lab😭⁉️🤷🏻‍♂️

I want to continue with school :) I love the lab but there's something more I need to do. I do not regret it at all, it is a part of the journey.

It is very specific but it is a great stepping stone to other types of careers. Never limit yourself. You don't have to be in the lab for 50 years. Sure you definitely can but if that's not something you want to do then see where that degree can take you :)

Hey! I actually also have a biology degree and in my area a certification isn't required for every type of lab. So I've worked in an oncology CLIA lab & now an oncology research and development lab without certification. However, depending on certain educational background/requirements, you can take the certification exam (without having majored in MLS/CLS)

That's correct. Some labs require different degrees/certifications while others do not.

I would look at the ASCP requirements and check job listings to see if your degree is sufficient.

Don’t get me wrong it’s a great career. I just have something more I want to work towards that I believe will give me more fulfillment. I do really like the lab but it’s hard to grow within as there is not much advancement.
