Dear Sir, Thank you for your great help in our learning of Physics . Please help me clarify a query on Co-ordinate systems, As we see the azimuthal angle is the angle between the X-axis and the radius vector, So, does that mean that one can't define the Cylindrical system independent of the Cartesian system ?
@ProfSivakumarRajagopalan
@ProfSivakumarRajagopalan 2 жыл бұрын
We can define the cylindrical coordinate system independent of the Cartesian system. But since we are familiar with Cartesian, it is easy to move from known to unknown. In addition, this way of defining helps us make transformations from Cylindrical to Cartesian and vice versa.

The same topics were taught in class but I don't understand them.

My video lectures entitled "Classical Mechanics" are suitable for MSc Physics course. For first-year B.Tech, you may refer to other video lectures meant for BSc Physics (both classical and quantum). I don't say that you should not learn, but I mean this lecture series is at next higher level difficulty.

Sir what is the meaning of 3N?
@ProfSivakumarRajagopalan
@ProfSivakumarRajagopalan 10 ай бұрын
If the symbol N represent number of particles, then there will be 3N number of position coordinates. For understanding, put N=1, so we require three coordinates to specify a single particle in Euclidean three-dimensional space. That means, the number "3" comes from the Euclidean 3D space.
