Years and years of watching fight scenes after this movie (fighters on invincibility mode/polished choreographed moves) you realize how great they filmed the last 20 minutes of this movie. It was anxious, awkward, frustrating and realistic. I watch this now and still feel overwhelmed like a high school loner.

This movie is synonymous with life. I was facing the decision to end my life in 2018. When I view this scene I think of Johnny as the depression, fear, shame, guilt, self loathing, and anxiety I felt. When the sensei says finish him, I remember being at that point, with the gun in the next room. I was about to take my life in front of my children. I just wanted the pain to stop. Somehow, I was shown what would happen to my daughter and my son. I was shown that the trajectory of their lives would change and they would never, ever be the same again. I thank God I stayed. My life is rich and full today. That little girl is now nearly 17 and that boy is 12. I would have missed out on the lives they are creating. It gets better friends. Hold on for one more day. ❤❤❤

I'm pretty sure everyone else noticed it, but it's interesing how Johnny's movements are more sparatic in the final match, showing his frustration. Compared to Daniel's movements, whose are calm and calculated. Those minute details. Perfect.👌👋

Johnny loses 2 points to Daniel being cocky. Bobby couldn’t beat Johnny but he’s not cocky and could have beaten Daniel. JMO.

@@BWill341 I think a clean match between Daniel and Bobby would've been much closer and more entertaining than that. Not sure if Bobby could've beaten Daniel, but Kreese definitely made it known that he's the true villain of the Karate Kid/Cobra Kai series when he told Bobby to get himself disqualified. What's even more messed up is this: let's say that Bobby did beat Daniel. Cobra Kai wins the tournament regardless of whether Johnny or Bobby wins. So Kreese put this loss on himself by ordering one of his students to get disqualified, and underestimating Daniel. Kreese has made it known that he's out for Daniel's blood though, for absolutely no reason. I mean, at least Johnny, Chozen, and even Barnes all had reasons for getting aggressive with Daniel. Not good reasons, but reasons regardless. Kreese has no reason to hold a grudge against Daniel, though.

Listen closely, you'll hear the emcee mention that Bobby Brown (yes, that's his name) was the previous year's runner up. So, the young man was definitely good quality. Additionally, he was the least Cobra Kai-like of the Cobra Kai (well, except maybe for that idiot who was made to do 60 push-ups on his knuckles). Bobby likely wouldn't have let sheer aggression get in his way.

@@nascarfanatic2425 Kreese had a good reason, at least according to himself: Daniel was slicing through the Cobra Kai and making Kreese look stupid. Take a look at the montage, Daniel beats four Cobra Kai, *including* the rather formidable Dutch. Additionally, Kreese was upset at Mister Miyagi. Remember, Miyagi thrashed five of Kreese's students. *That* was Kreese's reason for a grudge against Daniel. No way did Kreese want to lose to the student of the man who beat up five of his students.

This is probably one of the biggest 'feel good' moments for any kid that was bullied back in the day it was all face-to-face. There was no internet or texting back then. If you were bullied, you often got beat, at least until you could manage to stand up to the bullies successfully...or befriend them, which oddly happened sometimes. The fights kids got into back in the 80s aren't much different than what you see on social media today, but it happened a lot more often. You just didn't see it on the news, cause no cell phones back then. All the kids knew about it though, as word of fights got around. Most weren't reported, nor were they recorded, so unless somebody snitched (and omg you never, EVER wanted to be that person, unless you legit had a death wish), the fights flew under the radar. Teachers would mostly turn the eye the other way, unless it was really egregious. But that did happen sometimes, and you might read about it in the newspaper. But it wouldn't make the TV news, since no video of it.

Not only in the 80's, but as far back as the 50's for bullying ! In the 50's and 60's, bullying was part of life and you just got used to the reality. As mentioned by Raymond C, Social media was not prevalent back in those time frames so most occurrences of bullying were never heard of, nor was there any record of it.

@@SteveBerryhill Usually that worked except when the bully was bigger than you and sure to be in prison after graduation. So you had to make friends with the idiot. In my "top ranked' public school (nationally) a kid was beaten to death during school hours. That's why I favor private schools that are expensive since the riff-raff usually cannot afford them and/or the parents can hire therapists for bully Johnny/Jane.

This is such a great fight. Just sad that Daniel never fought this intelligently in other films. In this he's countering, dodging, using takedowns (Daniel's 2nd point was a great little leg scissor) all while fighting close and dirty etc. and it later films it's like he forgot it all.

The look on Johnny's face before that point with Bobby starts. Just this look of horror and confusion. Then when they take Daniel away, both he and Tommy looking at Kreese like 'This guy is an awful human.'. I can only imagine how jarring it would have to be to see the true nature of someone you look up to like that.

Rules of the tournament: kicks to the head are not allowed. Final Point is a kick to the head 😂

Actually kick to the head is allowed unless it comes with a force (sorry for my bad english). You see other kick to the heads at the previous rounds. As you can see , Daniel does not hit johnny's head directly but he walks to the kick. That is allowed. My son is doing karate and the tournaments even today are a mess because the rules are too complex. Some kicks are allowed when very similar kicks are disallowed. Especially children's tournaments rules are terrible as the direct contact is forbidden, the hits must get close to the body without touching it. That results in some referees giving the point while the other do not.

First off, I know this is a movie. THAT SAID, it seems pretty clear that this isn’t the first time Kreese has pulled shady/illegal shit. You’ve gotta wonder why Kobra Kai is allowed to continue competing each year when it’s clear Kreese and his students have no problem intentionally crippling opponents and ignoring tournament rules. At some point the tournament organizers are complicit.

Creese is pretty shitty but with hos backstory you can understand why he turned out the way he did. Terri Silver was a true psychopath, no real motive for the things he did other than him getting pleasure out of causing pain for others.
