Obviously this is just exercise. Going through a "boxing regimen" for working out to stay in shape is an excellent choice. As for actually learning "how to box", there are many factors involved before actually throwing punches. The foundation needs to be solid before attempting to get into a ring with an opponent(for training, sparring or amatuer boxing). I was taught to box as a youth by an ex-pro fighter in San Diego. The process involved determines how serious someone is to learning how to box. Most people quit during this stage. The road work, hitting the heavy bag and shadow boxing was the fun part. It's the jumping rope, neck exercises, torso exercises, using the medicine ball, trying to get your timing down on the speed bag that's the hard part(physically). Then after all that, putting it to practice, and still learning! Balance, footwork, head & torso movement(the very important parts outside of conditioning a fighter needs). Then, the most important aspect of boxing, throwing a punch correctly. Then all the intangibles. Timing(reading your opponent's movements and reacting). Being disciplined defensively(keeping your guard up after the act of punching). Ring generalship(learning to cut off the ring to attack an opponent) and conversely(using lateral movement and head/torso movement to avoid an opponent's attacks). And this is all just the beginning. Experience repeating this over and over and fine tuning it. Learning your deficiencies and hoping to correct them. On top of that learning out that you might not be cut out for boxing due to a weak chin, lack of heart, or a mental block preventing you from reaching your potential. That's just scratching the surface, it's possibly the most difficult art of self defense to master due to the regimen and learning curve involved.

Needs to keep the back foot heel off the ground and turn waist when throwing to transfer power from the ground. Shes throwing arm punches and you didn't correct anything.
