Jason, our aunt who was raised in Kentucky, she would put a garden up every spring. When she planted her tomatoes, she always put sugar down in the hole and put her plants in on top of it. Best sweet tomatoes! YUMM!

Jason, your garden is too large for this, but my father in law used pasture wire, formed it into cylinders closing it with hog clips for placing around tomato plants. He clipped the bottom so there were times to stick in the earth. They lasted forever.

My mom's neighbor used to do that very thing. It makes fantastic tomato cages that's sturdy and large enough the whole tomato plant stayed contained.

I use concrete re-mesh. It’s a bit stiffer than fencing. It comes in 150 ft rolls and makes a ton of sturdy tomato cages. Secure with hog rings.

Wow! garden looks great. I have 20 tomato plants doing well but Sunny southern CA is not so sunny right now. We have had very little sun here for the past 6 weeks and while the tomatoes are doing well fruit is not on the vine yet. I'm growing an Abe Lincoln as well. Every year I start about 75-100 tomatoes and give them away to neighbors. Abe Lincoln did really well this year!

I heard that if you make a big house, Ive even seen people put small dog houses in Trees, they will use it for a nesting box. That way you can control them better and they will adopt that as their home. I dont know if you can mount on on a pole in the middle of where yall have them now but worth a try and would be so redneck cool of you to do!

I love me some fried green tomatoes! And ripe tomatoes fresh off the vine are the best. I would take that big ol' zucchini and cut it up and freeze dry it for soup in the winter time. Yum Yum. Brooke, I meant to tell y'all that I thought it was a little odd that Jason was putting out the hay and getting the feed without you. I just thought you were doing something off the farm and he forgot to tell us. I am so glad you are better and feeling more able to help on the farm again. Happy Anniversary! Jason, my pot belly piggy hated mud and water. He looked just like Peaches and lived 13 yrs. Purple Hull Peas, sliced ripe tomatoes, little green onions or a sweet purple onion AND cornbread is a feast in my book. When we gardened it didn't matter if there was a meat on the table because an all fresh veggies meal from the garden was all that was needed. BTW, you can't eat those peas without homemade pepper sauce! 😉❤️
