In These stories Humans are often referred to as Human, Humanity, Deathworlder, Hellwolder in reference to the human planet of origin , Earth. This planet is seen by most of the universe as a place where only death and chaos can survive.

Humans Are Space Orcs (HASO) or Humans Are (Fantasy Race) Are used as a guide when writing.
In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don't always put a positive spin on humans\humanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

Many decades ago, I lived in Bitburg, Germany. There was a monument near my apartment, of children wearing goat hides. I asked a local friend what it meant. She told me the story of when the Huns were invading the area. They would lay seige, burn the crops, and try to starve the people out. The town elders had the idea to dress the children up as goats and parade them along the walls where the Huns could see them. The Huns figured that the townsfolk had more than enough food to last them through winter and beyond, more than the Huns had, and so they left to find easier targets.

They did that a couple times. Most of the time they did not, you only do that if you expect a counterattack that you might not win. Most of the time you would not lay siege in such a situation. "Favorite tactic" implies this was a go-to tactic, when in reality it was improvising at the spot when they found themself in a bad spot, the tactic was to not be in that spot in the first place. It wasn't a favorite, it was an emergency backup
