When I was a kid in school and the science teacher said that cold applied to a liquid turned it into a solid and heat turned it into a gas, I asked then why when you baked a cake did the liquid batter turn into a solid? Instead of answering my question, I got sent to the principal's office. That's the kind of thing that results in a comedy routine like this.

It was an ape that they sent to space. Not a monkey. This guy is beyond stupid. This routine was a lot more sad than it was funny. The very few actual funny jokes he said were stolen from older comedians from years ago. Just because you look funny, it doesn't make you a comedian. Science is a process that allows us to objectively evaluate facts about our shared reality. It takes a lot of work and discussion and it can be messy because people and language are messy. Our ability to collect data is limited by the instruments of the time. Sometimes there's a paradigm shift when a new aspect of nature is uncovered and it shakes the foundation of our understanding of our shared reality. But it doesn't mean the process is bad way to evaluate reality. On the contrary. It means we are getting closer and closer to understanding nature and reality. And I hope everyone would agree that getting closer to the right answer isn't a bad thing. And I hope we would all agree that dogma is not a reliable pathway to truth.

Only recently hospitals realized when a child is born to let it fight and search for the mother's nipple. Chemo and MRI kills patients faster than the disease. All hail science!!!

might as well try to teach a dog to ride a bicycle.. but here we go. why are there still monkeys? Monkeys are basically our dumbass cousins, that somehow survived. every time mommy and daddy makes love to create a new child, they're slightly different. maybe Ezekiel is a bit taller, and Abel has a slightly bigger nose. now Ezekiel finds himself a wife who is also pretty tall. they make two babies as well. one turns out taller than ezekiel, the other a bit shorter than him. now Abel wasn't so lucky. women thought his nose was ugly, and everyone wanted to bang ezekiel. which means Abel ended up being sad and lonely, and had no children. so imagine over 100 generations, the ladies pick the tall guy, and these tiny little differences in height adds up. thats the basics of evolution. but there's more to this. since genes are complex, turning on or off just one gene, can cause huge changes. in our case, when we went from monkey to man, there was a few key things that got turned off. the gene thats supposed to make our head get smaller as we get older, got broken. then the gene that's supposed to make hair grow all over our body got broken. instead of becoming grownups when we are 2 years old, we are monkey infants until we are 20 or more. finally in our mid 30s, we start growing hair all over our bodies, and stop learning new stuff.

I do agree with his complaint (I know, I know…it’s comedy.) about art teachers or art books telling you what is good art, though. Kids become intimidated about their work because they are told what type of art is important. Adult students are the same way. When you show kids famous paintings, you are telling them this is the standard by which you must strive to achieve. (I realize there are other reasons for showing artist’s work.) In the same breath, they tell them to create their own ideas. They should save the examples for an art history class and provide materials, time, and space for kids to play. I know he was joking (or not) about Picasso, but, there is nothing interesting about a painting done in photo-realistic style.

Well that's not using the scientific method, then, is it? But I agree. A lot of people use their own mangled, home brand version of science and it ends up making the actual scientific community look less reputable and trustworthy. But the beauty of science (in truth) is that if it's done correctly, it removes the need for reputation or trust because the answers are right there with evidence to support it. If they arent, then you ain't doing real science.

@@cross-eyedmary6619 There is Truth and then there is pseudo-science aka scientism, which is a belief structure aka another false religion, that people take on faith, being gullible enough to believe the false claims. We are living in a time when critical reasoning and logic are at an all-time low. People don't require any evidence for the claims they believe, and true science is all about what can be proven, the prefix "sci" meaning To Know, not about theory, but Proof, which Scientism doesn't have, 'unless' they conjure it, creating false proofs, using computer graphics, or in an artist's lab, or a movie studio, which they've done. People are amazingly undiscerning. It was created to deceive, that's its entire purpose, it's a tool.

@@cacatr4495 Yep...and this notion of "Scientism" seemingly appears to have sprung directly out of the "Enlightenment" period ~ which was proceeded by the "Great Schism" (of 1054), the "Norman Conquests" of both England (1066), then Italy (took a bit longer) & eventually led to a few centuries of what we now known as the "Protestant Reformation". In which, I might add: NOTHING was "reformed" but millions were raped, robbed & murdered, previously "united" Europe was splintered to where hell won't even have it but England did get to become "Great" Britain, so there's that. Next came France ~ The Vendée did put up a fairly decent revolt (1793-96) ~ but, alas, the "Revolution" in France was won(??) & those poor bastards been "cucked" ever since!! Anywho, in 1882 Nietzsche "infamously" wrote, in the words of the madman: *"God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?* annnnd, here we are!!
