I really loved what they did with Andre's character, almost everyone hated him when they found out that he cheated as that is the correct response but after finding out more about him we slowly start to see that he's truely changed

in the bottle episode Shirley mentions she and Andre reconnected over Labor Day... and by reconnect she meant sex since the context was that she thought she was pregnant. so they had been together for over a month at minimum when her and chang did it on Halloween

So did you guys not recognize that Andre was being portrayed by Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who played Theo on "The Cosby Show"? (Apparently, Yvette Nicole Brown had a huge crush on "Theo" when she was a kid -- so she was thrilled when she realized that Warner would be playing Shirley's ex-husband)

Malcolm Jamal Warner is from Cosby show and Cosby always wore outrageous sweaters so when Jeff compliments the sweater and he says I got it from my dad it was a Cosby Show reference which at the time wasn’t as cringy as now

Celebrity Pharmacology is your favorite? I'm assuming you mean the episode after next, since that's the one that's on most people's favorites list (the one removed from Netflix). The next episode isn't usually a favorite for most people, though I do really like it and think it's underrated.

So there are a lot of special features on the DVD's, like season 1 cast evaluations, bloopers, interviews, and webisodes. In one of the webisodes featuring Dan Harmon, there's another named character, Brody Leitz. He's played by Randall Park (Jimmy Woo). I think the only place they unmask the mascot is in one of these videos.

On the subject of names, from middle school up through most of High School I was friends with someone with the same first name as me, so we just went by our last names. Thankfully my last name was King, and even though he's no longer part of the group, the other 2 members of our friend group and I still are, and they still call me King. It's nice.

to be fair andre not being mad at shirley for cheating because he realises he made the same mistake is really mature, however if he did choose not to be a part of (potentially) chang's baby's life then that's seems fine to me, there is nothing mature or immature about not wanting to father a child that might not be yours .....

i hope they aren't watching this off of netflix - 2x14 is supposed to be 'advanced dungeons and dragons', but netflix took that episode down (and that's the only one missing). and that's such a shame because it's one of my favorite episodes of the entire series. it's so hilarious. but if they're using amazon prime, i think it might still be there

I often think of this episode as a good example of Britta being a better fit for Jeff than Annie because of that bathroom scene. Annie comes in and makes the whole conflict about her and Jeff's relationship, but Britta goes in to help a friend and make Jeff do the right thing. It still felt like they were leaning on Annie being too young so I don't know why they pushed it more and more as the show went on. I mean, they knew Jeff going to Annie's place at the end was the wrong thing to do, they didn't just reveal Rich for a joke. It made more sense than him saying those things to Annie.

Britta/Jeff for life lol. I like the Annie dynamic because it's good for his growth but it's always been my headcanon that Jeff and Britta get together after season 6.

This is a terrible example. Annie rightfully calling Jeff out for what he's doing, and Britta trying to help Shirley have nothing to do with each other. Britta was also in Bathroom to meet Neil for the tickets, she could have gone and talked to Andre herself. They just have two very different things going on. Annie is very helpful and very often helps everyone out, so does Britta.

By undertanding that this was a mistake that Shirley couldn't even remember, and that blood means nothing next to love and affection. The child will be theirs, not Chang's, because they're the ones who will raise and love the kid.

She isn't "his woman". Regardless, he cheated on her, they split, she lived her own life, he came back, he accepted that your ex having other sexual partners after breaking up with you is just reality, and he accepted that this whole situation wouldn't have happened if he hadn't cheated in the first place. His accepting of responsibility and being willing to move on is what's mature about it.

@@tomato2517 i'm confused, i didnt bring up Andre's cheating. I was talking about Shirley's. Other than that, affection and love in the upbringing will always surpass blood relations. So, for me, the child is theirs, not Chang's.
