Really great video John! So comprehensive. One very minor point. In the Trainer screen it would be more correct in the channel mapping example to refer to a student using AETR with an instructor using TAER, rather than a Mode 1 student and a Mode 2 instructor. But hey, that's just my OCD showing! I wish I could be as eloquent in a presentation!

Hi. I have just bought the 4in1 mode1 version of this radio and I I seem to have less "model screens" as you have 12 and I only have 11... is there something missing with my radio as I cannot get it to find all the receivers, and I cannot get it work at all?

Many thanks for the in-depth guide, appreciated indeed. One question though, I have a brand new Boxer Max with the AG01 gimbals, and no matter what I do (calibration, disable trims and whatnot) I have a persistent jitter on my sticks, values are jumping roughly +/- 3 to 8. Is there a way to stop that jitter?

They're interchangeable and can both be configured as throttle. So mechanically, they're identical. One of them is flipped upside down and placed on the other side to allow for centering/non-centering configuration.

Thank you so much. It a great tutorial cover each step on the controller. I have similar controller Radiomaster boxer. My problems, when I press arm switch, trottle up but none of the drone propeller spin. The controller is connected to the drone, positive strength connection bar shown, but it not start or spin the propeller. Hope you could assist.

hi do you have a video on how to do a bench test? I'm getting a warning saying RF signal critical and is triggering the fail safe. PS anywhere pass 200 meters and with line of site. it was not doing it before and i need to test if the issue is the antenna on the radio or on the drone.

QUESTION: I have a Boxer with internal 4-in-1, and I have a Horizon Hobby Aeroscout S. Is there a quick way to 1) fix the channel mapping, and 2) map the switches so that the Boxer looks like a Spectrum DXS to the Spectrum AR631? The AR631 is a TEAR channel configuration. I also have an Orange brand DSM module that works on the Boxer, so my intent is to set the Boxer as an instructor TX and the DXS as a student TX, but I need to match the sticks and switches/buttons on the DXS. I have successfully bound the DXS and the Orange module, but the external Orange module configuration has to be set to PPM. I'm close, but no brass ring.

I encountered a problem, because after updating edge tx(boxer else)from 2.8.0(stock) to 2.9.2, whenever I turn radio on, I can hear constant quiet sound(sort of like flatline sound) from speaker, and although if I tick the “audio off” in the hardware it silences the “flatline” I don’t think that’s the real solution. Have you encountered such problem?

Great video! Just got a Boxer and for the life of me, I can’t find where to set the DMS protocol to work with some planes I have. Try searching and you won’t find anything useful. Same with how to charge my Spektrum 300 mAh 3s battery. The 150 charger has output for the big plugs but the Voodoo I’m trying to fly now has JST connectors. So do I need an adapter or can I just charge with the balance plug (low amperage)?

Great video. I learned a lot in a short time. Wondering if maybe you could explain the instant trim on a future video. On a full scale aircraft, the pilot will center the controls to fly level, hit the trim button, and that becomes the new neutral or centered point. No fuss. Is that what the instant trim does? How does that relate to the iNav auto trim which I enable all the time?

Sure. Use a special function to trigger with the logical switch. Haptic is an option for the function.

Considering modules on version page, it says OFF, because your current model doesn't have any module protocol selected. Which was a little confusing for me, when I tried to start elrs lua script and it didn't start and both modules were OFF in versions page.

Probably better to bring this up on discord. Kind of depends on the RF tech you're using. Also depending on your use case, might be better to figure out why you're getting telemetry warnings. If none of that matters, you should be able to turn telemetry alerts off on the telemetry sensor page.

Depends on your receiver. You need to get voltage telemetry from something. It's not up to the transmitter. If the RX supports it or if the RX is connected to a FC which sends telemetry, then you can get it on the TX.

15:04 when you said if you have a GPS connected do you mean a GPS on your drone and it would send time information to your radio controller?? and also shortly after you show ''GPS coordinates'', does that mean the GPS on your drone sends it's GPS coordinates to your radio controller? what is that used for

Has nothing to do with drones. It's a GPS on the TX for the TX. Could be used in logging/surveying/tracking pilots etc. It's a transmitter device only.

You should watch the rest of my EdgeTX videos. Even though many of them are conducted on color screen radios, the logic and principles still apply. I have just about everything you need to know about EdgeTX in a video already.

I bought the Boxer factory version, it did not have a script for setting the S6R FrSky stabilization receiver. I saved the script from the radiomaster TX16s SD card. I have such a radio. Will it work on Boxer radio.

3.3 officially supports SBUS out. I always suggest people look at the changelog to see if the feature differences between versions strike a chord.

Radiomaster usually includes the stock sd card contents on their website. They're also available on the EdgeTX Github.

I don't believe I have a model setup video for black and white radios; however, I have tons of material on OpenTX/EdgeTX and while the screen may look different--being black and white--the processes and procedures are very nearly identical. Check out this video to learn a little bit about the relationships between inputs, mixes, and outputs. FYI The core functionality and logic on OpenTX and EdgeTX remains closely related. So it's ok to watch and OpenTX video--for core functionality, EdgeTX radios will behave in a similar manner. kzfaq.infoUTyTqTqXPFM

You need to be on discord for this kind of help. I've only setup a gazillion switches to play sounds and it works. So there's more to your story than this.

Would you recommend this radio for a beginner? I realize Edge TX involves a steep learning curve, but the price of the 4 in 1 version of the Boxer is pretty reasonable.

Without a question. EdgeTX has a massive support library online and in video form to help beginners learn. It's a solid radio choice.
