The concrete walls around our foundation have cured and we are ready to remove the forms. We will now be able to get a good look at just how bad the blow out was and fix the issue.

We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while building our own debt free, off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.
Our house build is documented entirely on our main channel "Wild Wonderful Off-Grid" and our family life vlogs can be found on our secondary channel "Wild Wonderful After Show"

How precious to see Ellie's art (and maybe the boys too?) on the foundation, one of the boys on the hammock relaxing with the two pups playing underneath, Carter jumping in and helping with the grouting, the chicken accepting life in the rain with such calm resignation, the sheep running across the meadow, Chuckie making sure the ground is still smell worthy. The concrete piers are a plenty good foundation, time constraints made them choose to build the house on those piers, their esthetic style caused them to want it to look like they've got a stone foundation. So they put up concrete walls to hold the stone. Had they chosen a different esthetic , they might have clad the crawlspace with a different material. But they do what they like, and so far it's been a very good thing.

Ok, watched that one again, I don’t think you have a video I haven’t watched. So basically cost was the reason to start, why you just didn’t pour a complete walled in foundation, plus, it sounds like your insurance company doesn’t like the open concept way it was originally built. The amount of work having to go around and pour not only footings, but walls to the bottom of the house is crazy. Not sure if your done, but if you still have walls to pour, get some boots to but through the plywood, washers and nuts on each side. Keep them from blowing out. Once plywood removed, angle grinder and cut off bolts. You won’t even know they are there with your rock up.
