That's a really impressive unit, I like the unique design of the lower tape deck like a normal tape deck, and the second tape deck is like what you'd find in a car, it's very different, but that's cool.

Aggreed but they are Certaintly impressive to look at especially the 999 model. Sharp's aren't too great either = hard to get repair parts for them.

You probably should of aimed the microphones more to the top of the big woofers. There are tweeters and mid-range drivers above the woofers, which are responsible for the treble and mids in the audio. Also I'm just wondering, but what do you have your stereo microphones connected to? I notice that Auto Gain Control (AGC) is turned on, and amplifies the background when music isn't playing.

Out of the OVER, 400 ( Four Hundred ) boombox's I have bought, This is One of the Very Few that I wish to Keep as the Only Huge Boombox that I would prefer to Have: over say the, Conion C-100F or the JVC RC-M90 - and since I mentioned the ( over rated M90 ) allow me to add that the (2) Two Preferred JVC Boombox's to Keep for me, is the RC-550 and the Casette Model of the JVC KABOOM Series - of which there are several model's!

i aggree as that would be impressive looking all-though I prefer using a JVC RV-NB1 Kaboom as my computer Speaker's as it has a take-away-your-thoughts To the Boom Bass Sound of it unlike any other Boombox out there - Except for the supposedly RC-M90 or the Toshiba WX-1 or while not really a boombox in the true sence - the Panasonic RX-A2.

Well all thought stuff are like they say cheaply made I may say only one thing.. 25 years later they are still playing loud and proud and yep people will pay for them oh I think I sad more than one thing..

Because this was shot with a Canon FS100 Video camera which only has ( AGC ) for the sound - which i have hated for the longest time . When I bought the Canon Vixia HF M41 HD Camera, ( the M41 ) has the ability to turn OFF the "AGC" YEsss so subsequently all video's uploaded after "Xmas 2011" were shot in Full HD and the better sound .

Possibly but I have not ever serviced this model yet and when I do I will ensure that all is working as this model is a KEEPER for me.

I have one exactly like this but it is in pretty rough shape. Do you restore these boom boxes? I want my looking like it just came out of the box. Please let me know if you do or know anybody that does thank you
