Converting a Pressure Pot for Casting Bubble Free Handmade dice!

Fed up of bubbles, micro bubbles and voids in your dice? Then a pressure pot is an absolute must for any handmade dice caster! Converting one yourself is by far the cheapest option so I wanted to share how we've done ours!
Tools you'll need....
- Safety Goggles/glasses
- Protective gloves
- 14mm Spanner
- 17mm Spanner
- Adjustable Spanner
- Vice
- Steel Wire brush
Parts to buys....
- Vevor Paint Pressure Sprayer Pot
- 3/8 to 1/4 BSP reducer
- 1/4 BSP Ball Valve
- 1/4 BSP Pressure Gauge
- 1/4 BSP Through coupler (nipple)
- Instantaneous Coupling for your Air compressor (plus adapter if necessary)
- PTFE Thread Tape

I bought the same pot but I kept the standard configuration and closed the L brass tube that comes out of one hole. Instead of a compressor I attached a bike pump to the valve. It need less than a minute to reach 40 psi but it allows you to avoid the compressor cost (and it counts as an arms exercise XD). (I decided to do so because I don't use the pressure pot often and I used to work in my room so I preferred to avoid the compressor)

Just finished converting mine yesterday. As suggested in the comments section, a heat gun helps separate the components. I've kept the supplied gauge and ball valve for the moment, but set mine up so the incoming air still uses the diffuser built into the lid, as I didn't want it blowing resin everywhere! I needed two £1 parts: a 1/4" - 3/8" BSP adaptor to fit the PRV to the bigger hole and a 1/8" - 1/4" BSP adaptor to fit the supplied gauge to their T- piece. I assembled everything with liquid PTFE and left overnight. Set it to 60 PSI yesterday, no leaks and all tickty-boo!

I was building a pressure pot from the same brand (EU-based). I had some troubles disassembling the components. Thank you for all the tips and also showing the struggles involved!

So glad I didn’t have to remove things off my Vevor pot that looked like hard work🥵. I’m pretty sure you can adjust the safety release valve by turning the bit the ring is connected to. Great vid 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Doesn't seem to work like that on mine, though, it wouldn't make sense for it to do that because you'd probably need some really high tension trying to keep the valve in place.

If you heat the couplings the glue will soften making it easier to separate the parts.

Some heat, a cigarette lighter, on those stubborn components softens the sealing compound and makes for eaxier removal.

ive just bought one from vevor for £70 with free shipping to the UK might i suggest you add vevor pressure pot to your title as i think that will get you more views great job in explaining it especially when your dad placed it all together before constructing it as that showed me just what parts where what the graphic @ 26:37 was just perfect

You done that the hard way. I did the same conversion and I just bought a 3way adapter an scrapped the safety valve coz it's not need resin at 55psi and i hated that glue they use...

I'm struggling to find a shop in the UK that sells all BSP (untapered) parts listed and at a reasonable price. Can I ask where you got yours? Thanks

Don't cut the paint pickup off use stilsons . Don't throw parts away, keep them so you can revert back to a paint pot if the need arises and you can with a bit more modification make a vacuum chamber. 3 tools in one.

Thank you for the UK based video on this. I have ordered one from China, my question is regarding the fittings. How is it possible to use BSP thread with the original fittings? I thought they would be NPT? The parts slide was very useful, thank you :)

He says.... "the ones on (my) pot were BSP, if the fittings on on the one (you've) ordered are NPT (you'd) need to get them, maybe from amazon?"

Did you find any leaks after you finished recording? :) looks like the pressure dropped a little in the video

Nope it holds pressure for the full 24hrs :) Ive literally only just had need to use the second one - too busy 3d printing masters to cast :(

I'm going to be ordering the parts soon to convert mine. Is it possible to use the valve and gauge that it came with, or is buying different ones necessary?

Great question! Answer- Yes it certainly is! The first pressure pot I have uses the original valve but i found it quite stiff and hard to turn, so dad got me a bigger handled one to make it easier :)

Not sure why you’re banging on about the Chinese glueing the parts in.. They have used a thread sealant which is the correct way to seal the threads. White ptfe is actually incorrect as it’s meant for water not air. Good vid.
