I've been using k95 with cherry speed for over 3 years now and I'm sticking to it. Did upgrade to PBT keycaps 8 months back and also hooked up that nexus dock. Maybe I'll do it once it fails, but as of now, working great. Although i did mod all stabilizers as had to swap spacebar switch and they all are soldered so went an extra mile. All stabilizers are now lived and cherry original as stock ones are very ratty. Didn't lube the switches but installed slim foam inside. Very happy.. 3+ years and only one such fail.. Great comparison 👍

Update : K100 OPX finally got delivered and first time plugging it in, compulsory firmware update popped up. Dont know about the changelog but this keyboard now supports polling rate for 8000hz, not just 4000. This was updated with previous update too in march but I just got to now including other bugs which are not mentioned. Spread the word..

Thank you for helping me narrow the decision down to the K100! Recently decided to swap out my ASUS ROG Strix Flare for the Corsair K100 since my whole setup was Corsair besides my keyboard and mouse. I am also swapping out my UtechSmart Venus Pro mouse for the Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro SE to go with the Corsair setup. I just ordered both of these items so I’m hoping I don’t regret either one!

I really appreciate the video. After countless hours over the last few months and 8 hours today (Yes, I am that guy....) looking at dozens of keyboards I finally narrowed it down to a Corsair K95 or K100. @@raf.nogueira I've always found Razer keyboards to be a bit loud and obnoxious for the most part. Though they have improved recently and it depends highly on the switch type.

I wish that makers like Corsair and Logitech would indefinitely make their boards hot swappable and modable - meaning you can open them up quite easily and add foam etc. I love the modabilty of custom keyboards, and yet I enjoy media keys and volume knobs. But I think since Razor and Logitech at least provide hot swapp on one board each and custom keyboards tend to show more diversity, I will get the best of both worlds in both worlds in the near future :) Great thing that the custom keyboard scene grew so much, since that put big the Keyboard makers on the spot to improve and evolve.

Thank you for this! I bought a K55 a few years ago and it's always been an excellent keyboard, but the rest of my pc has Corsair RGB fans, strips, and ram etc, so the keyboard isn't really living up to the full potential with its limited lighting control. I've been looking at a few comparison videos and guides over the past couple of days, and it was this video that persuaded me to go for the K100. So.. Thank you for that! I can't wait for delivery! May be time to finally upgrade from my 2018 Platinum (NON XT) wow... I'm actually impressed. It's a very decent refresh. Next time they release one though, it'll probably be like a $300 board with some Elgato-like G keys :D Oh my god. I absolutely adore the new lighting bar that goes all the way down to the sides, almost like a Spaceship! It gives off such "HOLY SHIT" kind of vibes haha. (Which I didn't think was possible! The Platinum already looks so great!) Good work Corsair design team! The XT was a HUGE disappointment, more like a demo version they made tbh.

I'm here after my wasd switches started to fail on my Corsair K70 after a little over a year of use. I could probably repair with a soldering kit but I don't know how lol I'm split between the 2 you have showcased here.

@@TheProvokedPrawn Yes. Really. It's a pointless, gimmick feature. Even if you think you're going to use this more than you probably will it's implementation is lackluster. It looks like a last second design change that is not uniform with the rest of the board. Nobody thinks "icue" is cool, shoving the branding in our face isn't going to change that. It's unneeded on a board of this caliber. That back lip flowing straight with the mirror like center and simple logo placement would offers a clean and elegant design mixed with a straight to business gaming look. It's worked for corsair in the past and has continued to do so. Yea, maybe I'm being too nit picky on just one aspect here. But we're talking about the potential of looking like a kid's toy to one of the best looking keyboards available by just removing that janky wheel.

Wow... I didn't know this released. I was disappointed by the release of the XT. I am actually sort of impressed by this redesign, especially of those new WASD gamer keys! I love them, the ones on my old Platinum (NON XT) from 2018 started fading on the WASD keys by late 2019. Calling it right now *Next Keyboard from CORSAIR will be this design, but instead of standard G Keys, there will be Elgato-like display keys, that will make the new CORSAIR NEXUS screen, near irrelevant (unless you want your Keyboard to look as flashy as possible!) just like this G100 is now making the Platinum XT irrelevant IMO. I'm a little off-put by the placement/design of the CORSAIR logo at the top/middle of the keyboard, I LOVE the little sporty/luxury-like "CORSAIR" logo stamped on the wrist rest. That shit is such a small detail but it screams ENTHUSIAST. I love this! I also love the more cushiony-like wrist rest itself! I knew CORSAIR was going to go with the Volume wheel like the Huntsman Elite or whatever that is lol. I haven't finished watching but this has my interest! I wonder if it's just a circular gimmicky kind of aesthetic thing. Looking forward to refreshing my keyboard game with the G100.

Ive had the k95 Platinum for about a year now and the k100 looks cool and would be nice to get if you were looking to get the newest flagship keyboard but its not worth it if your just upgrading from a k70 or k95. Also I dont like how the left shift key on the k100 is small compared to the k95. I love my brown switches and this keyboard should be very nice to use for about 9-14 more years maybe getting new key caps along the way. It's important to clean your keyboard every few months though if you really want it to last for over 10 years. Good luck guys corsair is the way to go.

The left shift key on the K100 is not actually small. Thats just the UK layout. American layout of course is the same

Scourgeborne it has extra controls on the k100 and I think better lighting but that’s it k95 platinum xt is better.try not to get the k95 platinum get the xt version of the k95 it has better keycaps and will last longer than the original k95 platinum

Definitely going for the K100 after this video, very informative. Just wanted to know about the "enter" key on that keyboard. On the Corsair website, the enter key is small, same size as a shift key. But in your video, the enter key is a standard sized enter key. I would prefer the bigger enter key, so I'm a bit confused on where to go to get it, as every image I've seen of the K100 is with the small key. Hope someone can help answer this for me haha

Just got the K100 w/ Cherry MX Speed Silver switches to upgrade my K70 RGB (w/ Cherry MX Reds) from 2015; which was the first ever RGB keyboard model released to consumers. The lighting and response time is sooo much better on the K100! The sound of keypresses are much better, and the ability to change the polling rate to up to 8000hz makes this thing freaking amazing!

That's quite a shortlist. I've not tried them all. But my faves are the K100, the Apex Pro and the G915 TKL. Not necessarily in that order.

Specs wise I think Corsair's. In practice I don't notice a massive difference. But maybe that's just me.

@@TheProvokedPrawn An expensive decision, but maybe the better long term investment. I had the Razer huntsman elite before, but the software was so bad. I kept experiencing disconnects with the mouse and keyboard daily. All that is fixed now. Great job on the video btw, It was helpful.

@@lukavandijk The double shot keys was one of my main reasons. Those alone can cost $30 at minimum. I'm a suckered for new tech. This should keep me from wanting to upgrade anytime soon lol. K95 is a great deal right now.

I am expecting a K95 in the mail in 10 days. should I return it, it will cost me over 60 USD to change it to the K100. I will be using it for very casual gaming, a total of 10 days a month, and browsing. I bought the brown switches options. Here are the deciding factors. I have never used a mechanical keyboard, and I have butter fingers and tend to press the sides of adjacent buttons when typing, which as far as I understand means I will struggle with the speed switches. so far the only thing I see is the dial. track jogging would be great for video playing (I watch a lot of videos and use keyboard arrows. zoom is also very interesting, which I currently do with ctrl+mouse wheel. scrolling and replacing alt-tabbing, with the wheel would be interesting too. I usually have over 20 tabs open :D. needing to press the middle to change seems tedious. isn't it! I don't feel it is worth the 60$ and a month wait. since I need to get it shipped from the US to Dubai :S Is it worth it :D

I have the K95 Gunmetal edition. It's been more than 2 years, and I love it. I was thinking in upgrading but there are something I like better in the K95 like the small Enter key buttom and the top light bar. Only problem I have is that the volume scroll wheel sometimes glitches and will turn the volume 100% or 0% and the only way to fix it is to unplug and plug the keyboard again. I think I'll pass on the K100. Shall corsair give us a OSD to watch temps in a new keyboard and I'll upgrade.

4:13 Jesus I hate my Platinum for the fact that it's basically impossible to clean the rubber wrist rest side with the little holes. I've tried. The only way I have been able to get rid of the skin cells or whatever the heck is in there is with a toothpick but ther's OVER 200 holes... I am not going to sit there doing this every 3 - 6 months, omg.

I'm gonna be annoying and say Capitalism by definition is literally just commerce and markets that are operated and run by the people, not by the government. So capitalism isn't the cause of you wanting something cool. The only reason why I even bother saying this is because people blame capitalism for everything when it literally is just a system where commerce isn't controlled by the federal government. Which inheritly would be way worse looking at how history has gone. Capitalism has problems for sure but the majority of the problems with it spawn from governments interfering and profiting off of the mistreatment of consumers. Which they gave themselves the power to do. 😁

It has a standard bottom row so you can use whatever keycaps you want now.

They need to remove the stupid Corsair logo from the wrist rest, they need to get rid of the iCUE logo from the button and make the button more stable like it belongs, make the button like a streamdeck LCD screen, very small and you can put whatever you want on it, make the dial have tactile feedback, change the glossy look on the top to be a bit smaller and make the caps lock and num lock and etc a little more visible, and finally include the blue streamdeck switches again. Lastly put high actuation switches on it like mx browns or reds, or make an opto mechanical switch with a high actuation point then I would buy this keyboard for $230, it's overpriced though

Wow, I simply cannot hear well enough to understand the words being spoke in this video. The audio mixing is perhaps, not the greatest. It does in fact seem the background music is a little bit too loud to stay in the background and bleeds over the reviewers message which indeed is why we all came here

Why did they put so many corsair logos there. Makes it look super ugly. Also given all the problems with K95, I fear this is another expensive dud. Funny enough how none of the reviews tell how broken the keyboard is. But if you look forums, it is filled with problems. Key caps jamming etc. ICue constant crashing, making it unsuable. Firmware updates that brick the keyboard. Total lack of Linux support (ironically third party app is better than icue). One would think that paying insane amount for this, you would get a good product.

@@ShadowManceri of course I haven't because my K95 has been my go to for ages. Then the XT. I use others then I go back to those. Look for any product online and you'll see negative reviews. I just share my personal experience, positive or not. Just look at my Corsair Virtuoso review for example, I say don't get it, it's uncomfortable but plenty of people have commented saying it's fine for them.

Never had any issues with my K95 (Brown). But the Dark Core SE mouse on the other hand....
